Where do you get "freely available" from this?
Quote:These components are sealed in scanner-proof, tamper-proof white boxes that can only be opened with complex biometric keys. The boxes are also designed to detonate if opened outside of an authorized facility.
And if you say anything about where they're sold again, I'll simply repeat the phrase "Anubis on Kurile".
Yeah, "freely available"? Check the Liberty Penal Code, under "Violation of Trade Secrets": the only ships allowed to move Gate/Lane Parts in Liberty are Ageira and DSE. I really don't see the point of this argument, as whatever happens the gates and lanes aren't gonna break...
The houses own their own jumpgates and tradelanes after the fiasco explained in the Liberty backstory (the extra developer commentaries that were posted).
That is why they are all owned by their respective factions ingame.
Gate/trade lane parts are obviously constantly being shipped about but yet tradelanes and gates are not springing up like wildfire, suggesting that gates and lanes need to be regularly maintained. Which in turn means that if no gate/lane parts make it to Rheinland, theirs will fall apart bit by bit. After all, they get plenty of abuse during pirate attacks.
Of course that doesn't mean that Rheinland can't get the parts but simply not from Liberty. So unless Liberty intend shutting all it's borders or blockading Ageira's factories then the parts will always get through.
The embargo is still in place btw. If there ever is going to be a war then this is a stepping stone stage on the way to full conflict.

However, when Ageira built them, they left in back door codes to every trade lane and jump gate they ever constructed. Could be used to lock them all, perhaps? The Hackers came from Ageira and so of course know about the back door codes. But even they aren't stupid enough to share it with anyone else.
But anyway...back on the original topic. If there is still indeed an embargo in place, i'd like to see more RM/RFP patrolling hamburg, Bering and Hudson, and more LPI, SA patrolling Texas, Hudson and Bering. Perhaps due to the increased tensions and military buildups, we can get dockable stationary battleships at both southern gates out of texas in the next version, and one covering the gate to Bering in Hamburg?
Perhaps even another Liberty battleship at the planet Atka (I think its called Atka) in Hudson, and maybe even Liberty finally starting the terraforming and colonisation of that planet, as a further deliberate snub to Rheinland? Plenty of opportunities to increase the interest.
I didnt realise the rightful Rhineland Government had been removed by a military dictatorship; you spend a few days away and Rhineland goes to pieces!
Time the Rhineland Government reformed and took back control from the military;
this seems to go for all lawful peoples of Sirius.
Our fore-fathers didnt escape from the military dictatorships of Earth,
just to watch the military again destroy our lives.
I understand now why the support of fringe factions is growing at such an alarming rate,
and not just from the unlawful elements. I call upon you the citizens of Sirius to call for Free elections to be held within the lawful houses of Sirius at earliest possible date.
First and foremost: Mr Meyers i would love to have included LPI in this, but all i see or hear about them is donuts. Maybe if your people didn't have names like Rusty.Donut you might be taken a little more seriously. My advice to your, sir, is put the donuts down and regroup in Texas.
Secondly: This thread was never meant to discuss the ownership of TL or JG. The purpose was to find out if the trade embargo was still in effect. But, while we are on the topic. Yes, DSE has an exclusive contract with Ageira to build JG and TL throughout Sirius. JG and TL parts are exclusively produced at the Pueblo manufacturing facility in Colorado. Finally, Ageira has never failed to recover missing parts. Also, different factions in Sirius contract DSE to build the JG and TL in their space. By the nature of the contract Ageira has with DSE, Ageira owns the software and hardware that go into the gates. Therefore it wouldn't be hard for Ageira to disable at least one part of the process.
Finally, I agree with TK9780. I was under the impression that Rheineland was ruled by a chancellor, not a Vice Admiral. Lets have the Chancellors opinion on the matter

I love how people are bringing this up as some kind of fact. It is buisness propaganda put out by Agreria to help make their customers feel more secure. This whole "noone has ever been able to....." could be very untrue. It should'nt be taken as fact. As we all know in the realy world, the long a product is on the market the more likely someone is going to immiate it. For me to belive that with all the people who work on the TL's, and all the houses that own them, no one outside of Ageria knows how they work. Well, if thats the case, Agreria should start doing the intellegence work for all of th houses because they seems to be able to bend the rules of reality in terms of security.
