FROM: Borg Hess, Ambassador to Bretonia of the Federal Republic of Rheinland
TO: The Bretonian Foreign Office
Guten tag,
I have been instructed to loge a formal complaint with the Kingdom of Bretonia for an incident involving the capture of a Bretonian spy in Rheinland space.
This matter is in violation of the Treaty of Snowdown. The treaty explicitly forbids any intelligence agents from either house entering the other's territory. Rheinland agreed to this demanding and burdensome treaty out of compassion and willingness to resolve the conflict between our two houses. It bothers the republic greatly to see how our kindness is being repayed.
Details of this matter can be found here. The nation of Rheinland protests this invasion of our sovereign territory as strongly as possible. Especaily irritating is this issue is a reoccurring one. Now is not the first time Rheinland space has been invaded by Bretonian intelligence agents.
The dismissal of our military's attempt at communication with the Bretonian Armed Forces is noted as well. This is intolerable on such an important issue and our government takes offense to this treatment. We thus expect a response from your majesty's government post haste.
Representative for the Republic of Rheinland, Borg Hess
It saddens me that we have to discuss such an unpleasant matter again but what can we say...it seems mistakes are something normal in times of War, or perhaps I should use the word "Extinction", which is upon us. I trust the diplomacy and the laws as much as I trust my collegues, being the chief of defense of Liberty or you, representative from Rheinland. Laws exist to maintain the order and those that break them must be punished.
Now, on that matter I will speak with caution. I trust this information I'm about to give you will be confidential and kept between us. Before a week and half I was informed about a traitor among our Intelligence. Sadly that one was too good and have managed to escape with such a haste and precision that he kidnapped one of our "Shire" Container transports with him. So far there was nothing to worry about but later we found that the traitor took some documents with him, which information sadly I cant share with you because of National Security Reasons. We sent other agents to track him down but it seems he've escaped away from the Bretonian borders. Until 31.05.817, when we received the report from Kommissaroberrat Voss from the Buro der Marineintelligenz about the capture of "BIS|GHQ-Unlucky.Alf". I dont know what kind of discussion you had with him or what he have told you but I assure you of one thing: That man is dangerous and the information he is carrying is of Top Secret to Bretonia. I would like to thank you and the BDM of this quick move to find that traitor. His ship should be boarded and returned to Bretonia while its captain - judged for his crimes. Sadly we have no information where it is right now but if you find him again I allow you to use any force to prevent him from escaping again.
There is one more thing I would like to discuss with you, Sir Hess, its about RNC-Sitzen or perhaps you have forgotten? The Goverment of Bretonia is eager to know what happened with the crew that contracted the deadly virus known as "Harris Disease", which attacks brain neuropse connections and produces delusions and irrational acts. I think you understand our concerns...of a fully armed Rheinland Battleship with mad Captain flying In Leeds...so perhaps you can give us the full report of what happened later, after the ship was returned to Rheinland. Also we insist to receive this ship entire Log files...because of Security Reasons. Who knows what that captain captured as information from the Heart of Bretonia? And who knows who he have been shooting if really being so unstable?
I would like to add something which perhaps you wont take as offense. If we take these two accidents, the "Unlucky.Alf" and "Sitzen" we can clearly see which one of them was trully a danger to the people of our Houses. The uproar of the pepole of Rheinland when they knew about "Unluck.Alf", which happens to be a traitor is quite small issue comparing to the uproar of the people of Bretonia when they learned about "Sitzen", which happens to be a fully armed battleship with mad captain on a lose. When it comes to threats about invasion or changing relations, I dont think its wise to accuse Bretonia, especially in this very critical moment of our History...the possibility to lose all we have build...forever.
I am sure your goverment can calm down its people and assure them that Bretonia is not the enemy and hopefully it will never be. The real "Enemy" is out there and I am sure sooner or later it will reveal its devil horns. Lets just hope I am wrong.
I insist we clear this misunderstanding as soon as possible and continue with our cooperations,

Guten tag,
We are glad to hear this was not ordered on the authority of the Bretonian Armed Forces, though somewhat perplexed about how such a thing could happen in the first place. Again, this is not the first time something of this nature has occurred. Our concerns still remain.
However, instead of pointing fingers at each-other, it may very well be more productive to work together. To that ends, I have been instructed to invite Bretonian representatives to New Berlin for a diplomatic summit. By working towards a common goal, we may be able to better prevent such situations from occurring in the future. This goes hand in hand with renewed cooperation and a warming of somewhat chilled relations we have had sense the Omega Conflict.
Would the Queen's representatives be willing to attend?
Representative for the Republic of Rheinland, Borg Hess
Representative Borg Hess,
Your proposal is tempting and is giving us "Hope" - something Bretonia needs in tons right now. The War Cabinet of House Bretonia agrees with your kind invitation to New Berlin where we can clear the old issues, prevent the birth of new ones and form a possible new treaty which should continue our stable relations from the past years. The board will discuss which exact representatives to be sent to Rheinland and once we are ready we will inform you about the date we plan to set sails.
In the meantime I wish to the people of our both Houses to seek improvement. Here I am going to quote one of our greatest heroes from the "seeds" of Bretonia, back from Earth:
"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often."
