I was once in a convoy of 3 Storks, we were all linked in formation, we had 90k to the jump hole and had to cut around the sun in that system to get to that Hole. I order a pizza, turn back around and two of the three of us are burning in the sun. The lead ship cut it to close to the Suns Corona and fried us.

I look at the screen just in time to see the last red bar on my armor go poof.
The other guy that blew up had gone to the bathroom.
Base building, and needing three storks loads of Cryocubes to finally be able to build a cloak or something or other...and we were one system away from our destination....after the long and hard journey into Gallia and back to buy them. It was a total buzzkiller.

In the good times when the battleship missiles were useful I tended to sub-target the back end of one of my allies attacked capitalship and double missile him, the enemy snubs that attacked him died in the process.

i did something similar when i was part of Convoy, now BAF|MN)

i was escorting 3 shires in my gunboat and we were heading to planet pittsburgh

the shires were formed on me and i forgot somehow and i was cruising to the mooring point, and i quick docked at last second

the 3 shires all slammed into the planet

nah wasn't that easy against some good bomber pilots and cruisers in Magellan , mostly the hackers were there and also the jokers liked to dump on us from time to time
