On noobs who deserve to be killed or good pilots who got lazy and succumbed to pilot error. Those that fly in straight lines resetting their controls, for one.
Trust me, you wont catch someone who's concentrating with that technique.
I liked the old Nova AM, but thats because I was one of four, maybe five people who raped the crap out of people with it. Hey, I even killed three RM in the last RM-TBH battle, one when I had all my wings, one when I had one of my wings, and one where I was a flying dart with two colada's strapped to the front.

I know, if people aren't stupid you won't kill them. But even good people make mistakes, just have to pick the right moment. And you just called quite some people for noobs;)

I though you had sunslayer in that fight (2nd last I think). Anyway it was awesome in 4.83. I hated bombers then... had only one and use it only against caps.

The old Nova was my precious little weapon, since I could sit there for 30 minutes at a time soloing an NPC Nomad Battleship, firing the Nova and turning around to avoid the capital fire that would ensue nearly every time afterwards. It was one hell of a challenge and probably the only reason why I have so many battleship kills on my Order fighter...
Now that we have the Supernova Antimatter Cannon and the Nova Torpedo Launcher, those weapons lie on my bomber in tandem. The Nova Torpedo Launcher I hardly see anyone use, but it's worked well for me, especially against Nomad NPCs that come in groups of four in a line before they break off -- thruster, fire Nova, turn around, have a pair of them instakilled and the others severely damaged. It works wonders against BHG Destroyers too, ripping nearly all their weapons off in 3-4 torps. Then again, they're $10,000 a torp and rearming that thing isn't really worth the price of admission...
The Supernova, well you gotta be good to place a shot where it needs to be since it drains most of your power. 138,000 damage is good and (unlike me) if you were a great bomber pilot you could kill fighters in one shot if you swung around quick enough...
Anyway I kinda wish the Nova Antimatter Cannon would come back as it was, because it drained a large amount of a fighter's power plant leaving you not a lot of shots off with the standard shield busters/codenames layout. Since some VHFs can survive Mini Razor shots there should be a one shot kill weapon that you gotta be really proficient with it. But since it doesn't have a fighting chance to do so, I'll gladly keep my Mini Razor and deal little amounts of damage to capitals and whatever else I can hit with the damned thing.

Isnt that the way it -should- be though? Bombers are not meant to be as effective against fighters as they are right now. i find it ridiculous that some bombers, especially the cat/redcat, are more powerful in all aspects than most VHF's are.
Bombers are designed to be anti-station and anti-cap, not anti-fighter. Right now, they're overpowered - and that's probably why everyone objects when any changes regarding bomber balance are proposed.
yes it is... but in 4.83 all (two:)) bombers were much better anti-fighter than any bomber is today, only in the right hands though.

In 4.83 against the best bomber pilots you had absolutely no chance in a fighter (specially if they had some coladas mounted as well), but you could rape average bomber pilots without problems.
