Im attacking somebody? oh thats news to me. but then you are one of the owners of one of or several bases this thread is about, so I wont expect you to understand, as you clearly cant comprehend your actions impacting on the server (lol).

the devs and administration sealed gallias fate by absolutely epic failing to launch it correctly all those years ago. its been nothing but a dead weight to them ever since and will continue to be forever more.

You w0t m8? So now every base owner is going to start thinking in a way that everyone is out to get him exclusively, which is total cowcunt, you know. Also why puerto rico began to be in huge need of POB just right today? How It even survived for all those years with no one actually going there - I just wonder.

People here just able to see all the negative impact the POBs are doing and suggesting the fixes. Even if they'll loose the POB themselves. I'm playing Corsairs and we have a stupid POB sitting on the hole in Gamma and I'm all healthfully for this base being gone completely. The POBs are nothing but a huge development failure that made it out to the game w\o any quality control, gameplay control or whatever control as a whole. In my opinion there is no way to balance POBs so all sides are happy and thus they must be gone or made SRP only with very close control and limitations.

I dont even know who you are, but ive had nothing but good times in my interactions with .:j:. and I do not have any characters that could actually be affected by the bases you own, so lets not jump the gun once again.

I was actually putting more emphasis on all of the bases that do this, if you want to believe its a personal attack then.. well thats your beef. I had more of a problem with the base in baffin, and the corsair bases in gamma. but w/e.


again as curios said, there is no way to balance this system propperly without making a lot of people grossly unhappy.

Make bases easy to kill and i guaruntee that will cause so many rage quits or admin enforced bans its just not worth it. the seige on Puerta del inferno raught me a lot about the mindset people get into when killing a base, or defending one

people willing to do ANYTHING to stomp on somebodies shiny things, or ANYTHING in order to keep their shiny things.

I am actually genuinely worried about the hidden from public view choices the administration are making right now as we speak on this topic, unlike many topics before now this one does actually have the potential to be one of the final nails, the potential for these bases to generate all manners of rule breaking, finger pointing hatred and eventually community division and subtraction simply cannot be ignored.

the player base plugin was created with the best of intentions but has already succeeded in slowly segregating the community, people argue that they create activity when really they do the opposite in the long run. they create small spikes of activity but the average activity level seems to plumit. bases enslave factions and their members, sucking their will to play the game because the overshadowing requirements to mindlessly feed the base will take up any ingame time they wanted to spend.

Slowly but surely i watched Kings Cross murder Bowex), bowex used to be one of the most active factions, like 10 days activity per month. and now look... dead as a dodo.

Supplying a base is like cleaning your house, the longer you leave it the more you have to do when it comes down to it, and even after a relatively small clean all you want to do afterwards is relax, so you log out.

Very true and I've enjoyed talking with you the few times we have.

Well it wouldn't make much sense to make them hard to build and maintain. Then easy to destroy.. Gotta be some give and take. Still I agree with you about the stomping.

Now there is some truth to what your saying here too.
Which is why a select few of us do ALL the base maintenance on our several stations.
When I say a few.. I mean a VERY few.
Only those that volunteer or the ones of us that have a vested interest in that base i.e.. They built it, or its one of those guard stations in PR and so on.
Still if Pob's are killing a faction then THEY are not using them right.
We get the spike in activity when the bases go up from those helping us build it up.
Then it begins to fall off as you mentioned and the select few of us are left to maintain it.
It still gives some of us a reason to log on other than mindless trading or pewing.
Supplying a base that is guarding your home gives some of us a fictional sense of purpose on these runs.
Goes for our faction in general.. I saw our activity start to fall when Pob's were removed.
Since most of us are not into mindless pews or boring trade runs the attention got redirected to smuggling.
Which has had its own set of problems..
Finally I've been here a LONG time and hear talk from time to time.. This looks to be the FINAL NAIL to disco
Crying over some new rule or something and yep activity falls off.. for awhile.
The activity comes back up some but over time gets less as is true with all games.
BUT.. disco survives still.
For a decade old game I think its done really well.

Now in my own personal feelings on this.
I was at my end not that long ago myself my own personal "Final Nail" if you will.
Before Pob's came in and the changes were made I was one of those "taking a break".
I'd simply grown bored of doing smuggling runs, scrapping operations and kusari pewing.
I needed a change and Pob's offered that.
Got me playing again..
