That would be a quasi-legal commodity really.

unless you change it to: Black market nuclear devices.
Just like Black market munitions vs munitions.

its an example anyway.

Mo' money for smuggled goods would spike the activity of smugglers and smuggling factions.
It would spike the activity of lawfuls too, as they would effectively become the 'pirates' that smugglers need to look out for.
And, like P-scrap, a temporary spike in pricing for two or three items in the right places can give directed activity to 'dead' systems too.

I'd like to see slaves, artifacts and BMM have a bit of a buff. Especially Artifacts. you have to smuggle those to Manhattan for crying out loud!

Slaves don't need much of a buff, as they are already on the front end of an already profitable and highly active smuggling route (the "Alpha Run")

Another good run I used to use back in 4.85 was Counterfeit Software from Ames in Kepler to Vogtland in O-49 (back when it was there....I think that may be changed now?), and then run Blood Diamonds to Denver on the return trip. Whilst not buying the smuggled goods in Bretonia...both of these runs generally go through it...which still gives the BPA something to go after.

I would definitely like to see an Artifact route buff, with maybe something like BMMs or maybe even Luxury Goods of sorts on the return trip to Gamma.

The Wake makes this run - all the time.
Counterfeit from Ames to Casablanca, empty to Viernheim, Blood Diamonds to Denver.
Lather rinse repeat.
* Lib Lawfuls never even know how much contraband runs right passed 'em.
Too many back doors and side alleys to get around them.

Semi related, Blood Diamonds are actually legal in Liberty as well as Bretonia. They're one of of the more interesting "quasi lawful" commodities in the truest sense as they arent illegal in every house, the same as Hypnotainment Bands and Human Organs.

In terms of actual smuggling commodities, I think it's a pretty constant thought with ores and other routes that they should be reduced or at least made to all use mostly the same routes in order to force greater activity into certain areas in order to make up for the lowered playerbase, so i'm not sure if these changes would actually be possible.

In terms of Kusari illegal commodities, I think synth weed may or at least should be getting buffed to contraband prices and that comes from S19.

Hmmm.
I've been threatened for carrying BDiamonds through Liberty lanes - but never caught red-handed.
I'm pretty sure they are considered a product of Rheinland and while maybe not contraband per se, prohibited.
That takes all the fun out of that run if you're right.
Hell, I concede then - mo' smuggling! Mo illegal stuff! Legit cargo is for nancies and pilots in skirts!
(Before anyone says a word - my kilt is NOT a skirt, if I wore underwear, maybe...)
