^ it can be balanced that skilled pilot with guns can do some 25% more damage then one with missiles in same time , isn't ?
In that case skilled pilots will use guns ,and not-skilled one will use misses !

Something like this could fill the skillgap a bit. More experienced player still will kill the noob, but the noob will at least deliver some damage instead of keep missing the target.

Pretty much this. This change would make Disco more user friendly, so more interesting for new people. Give them a higher chance to deal any damage to the enemy. Right now all those noobs are looking for help in ganking and it causes a drama. Story never changes. Masters will cry about being ganked by people who are no match for them if dueled separately. I don't want to make skill(meow)res underrated, but a small chance for a newbie to at least damage this thing would be a cool idea. After all the skilled guy will still win, but the new one will deliver at least some damage to it. Right now the gap between skilled and unskilled guys is just too deep. However I doubt it will be ever considered.
Freelancer has a potential, even as kinda old game. The thing is to forge it both friendly to masters and slaves.
