2. Kate "Flora" McKinley, born in Cambridge (UK) in 2012. Raised in a remote settlement on Alaska where her family hid from the newly established order. Proficient in using a sniper rifle due to years of hunting in the wilderness. Joined up with the restrctured XCOM along with a squad of resistance fighters travelling through the region.
That reminds me, I should run the Disco Dwarf Freeportress series again.
Feel free to just use my name. Just make sure at least to pretend not to want to kill me off on the first mission 8|

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Well, I made all the characters mentioned in the thread, except for Lily Wayne (couldn't find pics and background to tailor it for XCOM + a preferred color scheme would be nice) and Spazzy (sorry, I just made it a rule not to include real people, just fictional characters from Discovery - that's why I didn't include myself or any people I know). The character pool now includes my characters, the characters from this thread, and a few Disco chars sent to me by SeaFalcon.
I didn't use the characters in the campaign, but I had a couple of MP matches, going with the following team:
Lexy Hawkins as a field medic with a drone and assault rifle;
Sapphire Raven as a phantom (aka ninja with a shotgun);
Kate 'Flora' McKinley as a sniper (revolver-oriented);
An ADVENT shieldbearer to make the team reach 10.000 points.
Both matches took place in a futuristic city environment.
Flora took a sniping position on the roof, reaching it with a grapple hook. Then she stayed there on overwatch. Lexy and the Shieldbearer took point, advancing from cover to cover, while Sapphire was lurking in the distance. She had a skill that allowed her to remain invisible until she attacked, got too close to the enemy or got outflanked.
Eventually Lexy spotted hostile ADVENT officer and two sectoids... The Advent officer rushed ahead and got caught by Flora's overwatch. The sectoids disoriented Lexy with their psi-abilities, but she had good cover and barely took any hits, returning fire and hitting one of the sectoids hard. Flora took the opportunity to shoot revolver from the roof, finishing off that Advent officer. He got resurrected as a psi-zombie, but didn't do much afterwards.
In the meantime Sapphire managed to sneak on the enemy from behind, revealing a psi-soldier that was hiding away from the battlefield - a perfect target for Flora's squadsight shot. She almost killed the psi-soldier, leaving only 2 HP. That's when another enemy psi-soldier outflanked Lexy and used some sort of mental rift on her... And then the game glitched, or the opponent left due to lag (yeah, MP is still laggy, so I'd wait for a patch before getting too much into it).
I think I would've won that one: Sapphire could've just sliced that hiding psi-soldier, and I could always activate shields and heal Lexy... But what's done is done.
Same setting, different map (they're randomly generated). Flora takes position on the roof, Lexy and the Shieldbearer take point, Sapphire lurks to outflank and slice. However, this time it doesn't work out quite as good.
Lexy gets outflanked herself when a certain Olaf 'Sea Eagle' Penn, a grenadier with a machine gun, appears in the window of the building just across the street. Flora provides cover, damaging Olaf quite a bit, and I think that I might actually turn this sudden outflanking against my opponent. An enemy sectoid that appears next to Olaf doesn't diminish my confidence.
What does diminish my confidence is the sudden appearance of Nancy 'Sangria Reaver' Sweetwater, who shows up in front of Lexy, wielding a sword. Sapphire could've attacked the Reaver from behind, but she's one turn back, and can't get to the scene before the massacre begins.
My soldiers concentrate on the grenadier, leaving him with only 1 HP. But in turn he blows up the building on top of which Flora has taken her position. Of course, she falls down, getting hurt even more in the process. In the meantime Inge Wexler snipes my troops from the top of the opposite building... To sum it all up: Flora gets slashed by Sangria Reaver, Lexy gets outflanked, takes a grenade and a sniper shot, gets killed too. The shieldbearer almost kills Olaf, but Sangria slices him before he can take the last shot.
That leaves Sapphire, who was late for the party, but is still invisible. She gets to the rooftop where Inge Wexler, the enemy sniper, was hiding, but finds nobody there. On the bright side, a lone enemy sectoid is walking through the atrium.
Slice time! Jumping from the rooftop into the atrium, Sapphire kills the sectoid with one cut and dodges Sangria's fire, hiding behind the corner and activating invisibility (yeah, Sapphire can activate her invisibility once more after she gets spotted).
After playing hide-and-seek with the 3 enemies, I eventually figure out there's no point in stalling it, and decide to jump on Sangria. Sapphire appears out of shadow, getting caught by triple overwatch, but still surviving that somehow. A double shotgun shot leaves Sangria with 3 HP out of a dozen, but the match ends next turn...
P.S. Thanks to everyone who shared their characters. I'm always looking for more though.
P.P.S. I know you want some screenshots... I'll probably get to it on the weekend, when I have some spare time to upload them. Sorry for the delay, it's just that uploading screenshots is always a pain to me for some reason. But I'll get over myself, especially when I have enough free time time to do it.
Man. That's quite fun to read,. Sign me up I guess
Aoi 'Gantai' Kunieda || Pic
Obviously Japanese, middle 20's
I still need to getting the bio back on forums.
Anyway. Just like in Disco, Aoi hates aliens the most, considering how they were responsible of the annihilation of her previous clan/family. She signed up for this cause as soon as she had the opportunity, with her high physical capabilities (slightly muscular and tall ~1.8 meters) she was able to quickly adapt with her new position and proved efficiency.
She's mainly a mean, and straight-forward person, and will play it nasty if required.
Colors would be mainly black with grey/maroon coming in second.
It took me about an hour and a lot of effort to get over my dislike for uploading screenshots and my general laziness. Then I had to reupload those things 3 times, because somehow I couldn't delete and reupload a single screenshot... But now it's done, so I hope you like/enjoy it, or that image-uploading suffering was all for nothing: http://imgur.com/a/nFCIV
Hello. This is still a thing, just in case. Although I already have around three dozens of characters (most of them are mine or SeaFalcon's), I still wouldn't mind more. The bigger the pool, the better.
