Looks like majority switch it off.

I was planning to write/re-write the music for Freelancer. But I'm not going to do that if 90% switch it off anyway.

I think the majority switch it off because it's so... well, vanilla..

I'd love it if you would rewrite the FL music - I don't trust myself fiddling with the files as I think I've conviently lost my FL disk again...

Of course its only an idea. I will talk to Igiss about it. Obviously the new music (eg: encounters, danger and system music) would be incoperated into the mod, and would be installed when you activated it.

Music is one of the most importent things in a game. Music can make or break a game...Add new fresh music would add a new dimention to Discovery, and make it that little bit more unique.

But its a massive task, even if I where to just do the music for the French house. Im talking almost hundreds of tracks here. Then there is the concern that it won't be "FL-ish or Discovery-ish" enough, that has been a problem in the model area for example.

But I will keep my head open, more suggestions and idea comments are very welcome. The more I have...The more incentive I have to do it:)

I either have it on very low, or I turn it off and listen to my own. But I almost always use sound effects to know when that dang missile is coming at me.

I love the music, always have, and keep all the sound settings at default.

...but this may be 'coz i'm too lazy to constantly alt-tab out to change tracks...

music files deleted - looong time ago.

Have up to 23 peeps on ventrilo all talking at once, so can't play any anyway - it would get too confusing.

Have sound effects on - sometimes you don't see the warning that a missile is inbound... but you here the voice.

When im trading i usu have the tv on.

SFX are all on. Definitely want to immerse myself.

I used to play with the music it on, but then it got very repetitive. And there's not much actual "music" to it.

Instead, I'm playing mp3s and midis of the music from Wing Commander 1, 2, & Privateer, about half the soundtracks of Firefly AND Serenity, and the soundtrack to the computer game Homeworld (it's mostly the ambient stuff like vanilla FL, but IMHO much better).
That playlist is perfect for me! =)
