From what I recall, Samura| decided Osaka should blow up for oorp motives unknown. Inrp, the Keiretsu is supposed to have gained a lot of insurance money from it.
Now if you ask me, having a facility in Honshu system to serve as a base of operations for their Hogosha and Farmers Alliance thugs to harass their Kishiro and GMG friends was more beneficial than whatever amount of money Samura may have gained from their insurance contracts. Not to mention the storage part used to keep whatever goods were stolen from Gas Miner Guild and Kishiro by Samura thugs, before reselling them as legit goods.
So now, in order to do all this, Samura has to use Planet Honshu, and enjoy an increased scrutiny by State Police and Naval Forces... In a Republic where Kishiro Keiretsu has supposedly the upper hand. Bribing/Corruption costs must have skyrocketed.
Anyway Zelot, Kusari needs some life and both unlawful and lawful factions are in great need of people. Oh and there is those Imperials that desperately need some love.
I've been playing KSP recently and yeah, Kusari is pretty dead. Most activity is traders with the occasional smuggler. And most of them are indies. I've encountered a couple of pirates (less than half a dozen). I've seen more log in, but they mostly stayed in Chugoku, where KSP doesn't really go much, so no interaction there. KNF and hogosha rarely log, though I managed to get a bunch to join in against some nomads that spawned by New Tokyo. The imperals are most definitely dead, and were so before i joined i think. I had heard that there was problems with ZoI (couldn't enter rest of Kusari or something), but being hounded by ace PvPers would have nailed that coffin shut.
Something probably needs to change in kusari to draw more players/activity in, whether starting new characters or moving pre-existing ones into the region.
We in KNF have very little to do sadly. Unlawfuls are a rare sight and are not interested in doing piracy.
We've been patrolling the area during years, most of the time role-playing between ourselves or with NPCs. Needless to say it gets quickly old and if there is no perceived good reasons to log, people will just not.
Sadly, KNF cannot be the only one to do some efforts. For example it's just sad we are forced to raid Chugoku in order to have the good fortune to interact with BD. In the same manner, instead of having one BD| member using an alt to sneakily move goods to Chugoku, and resulting in massive meta-gaming from both side, this could have been used to make events bringing some activity for several factions.
I don't know... If factions leaders actually bothered to agree to work together, perhaps by agreeing on a "Let's be all active at the same time" window on week ends, for example, things wouldn't be so awkward.
Factions leaders could also agree to make events regularly, with some rotation, like BD| in January, GC| in February, KNF in March, etc...
That may sound rude but if you are giving no incentive for your members to log, and are unwilling to cooperate with others, then you are just awful factions leaders. Just waiting for others to do something and do the very minimum to get above the 1 day activity is the reason Kusari is such a bare place. Not the pretended OP ships, not the house design.

Pls gib love.
You forgot farmers have kamisu base in Honshu, and plenty of allied outposts in the sigmas to launch operations. Samurai even managed to make an outpost of its own in sigma 59, the former gng guard system.

Pere. Already told you via skype. But yes. The Osaka Storage Depot was a HUGE advantage for Samura in Honshu which is more Kishiro friendly than Kyushu is. It was a facility. And a storage deopt. Unlike Kamisu, the little useless tiny station hidden in a nebula. Sadly i wasn't around in the Samura Director's chat when the discussion about Osaka started and ended with the destruction of the Facility. This decision was dumb. And the Station in Sigma 59 is not that important. Not to mention that Sigma 59 is useless like many other de-guarded systems.
I think getting rid of Osaka is smart. It was a vanilla relic of the GMG\Samura alliance. I was just curious about the rp. I have been wandering around Kusari the last week or so, and aside from the silent traders, I saw a couple Samura ships last night on the other side of Kusari. The rpnI have gotten was an LSF sneaking around who I talked to for a while.
Anyway, I finished up a FA piracy transport last night, so maybe you guys will have someone to chase soon.
Glad to see you are jumping back into swing of things. There are a few ideas regarding a Kusari event relatively soon as well, so you should have things to pirate, yus.

As someone who just rolled out a Imperial (exile) Indie (I'm fairly new, and wanted to explore the Taus / Bretonia / Kusari after the Gallic conflict; I have to say there is some great, great content about), I was likely combing through the same forum posts and ingame inforcards you were recently.
Thanks to all that posted here; it's nice to hear it from those that were around. The Wiki and forums have the info, but it takes some time to really piece things together. For example, I knew the 343 were quite low in activity, but it does sound like it's a done deal due to ooRP stuff. As the Imperials are pushing back into Kyushu, a player faction has two fronts of activity: Gallic (border in the Taus, as well as the Bretonian / Council systems), and Kusari (make a territorial claim).
I would love to see activity something in the Nagano system, perhaps something regarding Planet Tomioka (and it's flyable planet!), as many factions have a reason to be there directly (BD, Samura fighting for control) or indirectly (people who rely on Samura to aid them, and allies of the BD). Or, just a quick skirmish, like some events have been.
Kyushu seems to be the hotbed of potential, with a three way struggle for a foothold in the system (Imperial vs. BD vs. Kusari Republic Navy). That would be a fun event; perhaps for the Imperials to make a push farther into the system, or the BD to make a claim.
Also, totally on board with the idea of factions rotating the obligation to host an event. Two weeks of "event" / RP, followed by two weeks of planning / prep for the next one.
Regardless, looking forward to see what events are rolled out; I really enjoy the faster paced / smaller scale events cycling through quickly, as it gives people a chance to dust off characters, jump into a system, and perhaps stay around for a bit.
