Liner was known to the Admiral. As he earned his wings in various regions of space - Kusari included - The Emperor still reigned supreme. Such prize would be the greatest spoil of war that AFC could dream of. Of itself, the ship was of little value to Blood Dragons and The Order.
"Satsuma. More of a battleship than liner. Thought to be lost, though I am not entirely sure how desperate as both Republicans and Imperials are could simply misplace entire warship."
Gaining it would not be easy as vaults of Arch were protected by more than carefully engineered contraptions and defense systems, built by brightest minds of the Naval forces. They were fammilar to The Order as there were three crusades launched against the fortress, latest landing marines of both Dragons and The Order into the installation. They recovered various artifacts, of both human and alien origin of various significance in every way. All of these riches shipped off to Chugoku and Omicron Epsilon before the bridgehead collapsed by Wild reinforcments and lead to general retreat.
"Would a NEMP however work? Mind you no one has ever used such weapon against Nomads... yet. Whether assault from such vector would be effective course of action is yet to be witnessed. In worst case we only eliminate dated Kusarian defense batteries out of the battle."
"It would at least make whatever human defenses on the outside worthless... And it would be that much more easier to get in. I can't answer though if it would work on nomads themselves. Your scientists might have to answer that question from their observations of the device. My best guess, though, is that it would be most effective on anything electrical but for organic things such as the nomads and their shields... It would work the same as on humans. I've heard the reports from the Freeport in Delta where they were reporting casualties from the bomb.
"If you dont mind me recommending, it might be a good idea to lure as much of the nomads and infested out before detonation. The station is cut into rock, if im not mistaken, and what I would guess would be that the effect of the EMP damage wont get far inside. Again, though, perhaps we need to run a simulation. Do you have any maps or something that would be of use of the station?" Sunny asked.
Lady Hakkera listened to the Admiral and Sunny for a while before stating her opinion,
A bit unexperienced as she was it took her a bit longer to truly decide how to diplomatically correct express her worries and thoughts.
"The Satsuma? The ship itself is supposed to be still existing, you aim for such valuable blueprints? That's fascinating, building one of those mighty vessels would appear complicated though. But that's not a matter we should discuss here."
"A simulation about how one can bomb the Arch effectively and if one single bomb is even sufficient will be the best to do for now. Afterall the Arch became less active lately, this doesn't mean a lot but gives us hopefully enough time to work out a plan and hit them unprepared. Everything related to the planning must be under the most strict security measures possible. We don't risk running into a trap due to leaked data and if signs of leaks appear the Blood Dragons will hesitate to send more than a few wings as support."
She thought about her words just now. That was alright, she then looked at the Grand Admiral, it was the first time she saw him in person and she had to admit he appeared to be more wise than many, many people out there. Though she quickly got back to focus on the ongoing discussion, a little interested view remained on her face.
Admiral listened carefully and continued without additional delay once given 'right' by daughter of revered Order veteran, a notable figure he held some deeply rooted respect towards. While he valued merits of individual rather than which family's name one carries, some of said respect subconsciously shared for Kazue.
"Perhaps our study will give us ability to simulate properly effects of said weapon against fortifications of the Arch. The Order has fairly complicated neural cognitive machines that with complexity rival Artificial Intelligence while in itself carry little malluses of their self-aware brethen. The effects will be for us all to seen before we commit to repeat the same strike in realspace. Alexandria institute will see it done."
Individual at his side wearing white variant of The Order uniform nodded. The technocrat certainly was not a warrior and knew little of tactics and strategies but understood more than enough about how his work synergizes with operatives effectivness in the field, especially in cases like this.
"My estimates are, The Order may deploy two battleships to screen the assault and secure the passage without sacrificing other fronts. Sending entire taskforce forward and establishing contrived logistical lines is not neccesary given proximity of target and already established route between Dragon homeworld and our own backyard. Kishiro backed regime has little to spare in terms of capital power projection in the north and if The Enemy deploys their venerate equivalents, it creates opportunity in itself to bound them in combat on our own terms. I expect Blood Dragon commitment to be no less than our own in overall force. Marines will take the brunt of the assault."
"That sounds like the beginnings of a plan, Admiral. You will have my full support on it. Let me know if you need any supplies to get going... both of you. If there aren't any further questions... I believe we can assume this meeting to be over for now and start preparations?" Sunny nods, relieved and ready to get started.
It was just that Kazue noticed something very important in Golanski's last sentence. A similar taskforce? She sighed weakly, wondering why she agreed to represent the Blood Dragons in the end. How to explain two friends that the Dragons cannot even spare a single Togo as backup for this operation?
"Grand Admiral, the deployment of two Battleship classed vessels will make it a lot easier, while it is true that the Republic's Naval Forces cannot spare much, we are just as occupied as they are. The ongoing battle over Planet Tomioka made us suffer enough loses, it is closing to its end but with the recent minor involvement of the Naval Forces it slows everything down.
It will probably be the best to be honest. The Dragons will not be able to send anything larger than a few Kagutsuchi Cruisers. We cannot afford to lose another Togo. Hopefully we can gather sufficient numbers of fightercrafts and bomber wings, I suppose I will talk to the escort and raider wings on Hikone in the Honshu system. They aren't involved into the Nagano battle right now and are ready the second I ask them."
She gave them both a very weak smile once she finished talking. Judging by their expressions she didn't do all too bad which noticable relieved her and made her relax a little.
