I was just looking at New London and considering the many RP stories and such that revolve around the place. It just made me think that planets are really diverse, with a range of ecosystems and habitats, n' stuff like that. I mean, there's probably a desert or rainforests or massive open plains on New London. But then you could speculate for ever, eh?
Anyway, I'm straying from my point - do you think the planets would be sub-divided into countries as on modern day Earth? And based on that, what about war? Over the last 800 years hundreds on Earth wars have broken out between various countries, so I wonder would wars spark off between various countries (not Houses) in Sirius too? Or would a massive planet-wise (or House-wide as it is) government remove that possibility?
Currently, there aren't many people on any of the planets, not enough for the sort of population coverage earth has, and even if Igiss agrees to up the numbers, none of them will have numbers comparing to that on earth.
Moreover, the sort of communication and distance issues that broke earth nations apart don't exist if you've fasttravel and FTL communication...so I don't think they'd have fragmented into the tribes and then nations like humans on earth did.
I would say every planet is a "country" and all planets in House are in kind of "union"... Possibly as USA today? Countries with one "president" who is having the last word in everything.
EDIT: Eh, sorry for the confused post, I feel like... dead sudenly...
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.
