William Steiner, you misunderstand. I'm not holding you personally responsible for the shortcomings of your nation. When I say "swallow your pride" I'm speaking broadly at your superiors.
And please, don't sit here and remind me of legal concerns. There's a war going on and your people need you. I doubt they need you to tell the people coming to help them that your laws still matter, because for them the law is the last thing on their minds. It's survival now.
It is my duty and so long as Bretonia exists, so shall her laws. Although I have advised you to my fullest extent, unless your activities change, my advice remains. Do with it what you will, chaos will reign soon, and I fear only then will their be a cry for Law and Order.
