A short sigh escapes him. "Again, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I am well aware of these facts." He talks in a much more serous manner now. "Let's not worry about this then, I'll task one of my science teams with this and join them when we're done here." Jacob signals at a junior researcher sitting at one of the desks nearby who then gets up to hand him a Key-card. "Go ahead with your scans, you're free to use any equipment in the room. If you however need access to the containment chamber, you can use this card." He hands Charles the Key-card. "However, please follow safety procedures and wear the protective gear stored in the airlock."
"Don't worry Director, I won't enter."He takes the pad, and starts working at it to start doing the scans he was talking about with the Director, to resolve some clues. As he was working, he exhaled and then looked at Taylor."Director, the main issue here is to find a way to integrate the powercell, in human systems. At the moment I started running a thermal scan, to understand exactly what's inside. Based on the temperature, we can determine at what state the Azurite is found inside this, cell."
Not too long after, and a small discussion with the other researchers aswell, the scan results came in."So Director, it seems that the cell is containing plasma. Now, as you may understand, we cannot simply cut that open and wait for the power to arrive, as it's pure suicide to open it. Do you have any suggestions?"
"Not to mention that the Cell itself seems to be extraordinarily robust, after all it did survive the dreadnought being bombarded by a fleet of order ships and subsequently explode. While directly cutting it open, definitely is too risky, these cells definitely are meant to keep themselves stable, otherwise we’d have a lot more… holes, in our system maps. One possible approach would be to simply extend small probes into the cell to minimize surface damage, that would have it's own risks though. A second, possible approach however would be to use a precision laser to take of small layers of the cell until it releases safe amounts of plasma which we could use in a more traditional fusion reactor design. We also would avoid having to connect the cell directly to our tech." A holographic interface appears on the glass after a quick gesture from him. It shows some information regarding a transport ship far outside the Omicron Lost system. “We’re already currently running a test using this method on another type of Nomad Cell, so I’d suggest the second method. Unless you’ve got any additional ideas.”
