Mort'dered awoke feeling dazed and confused.

She looked to her left.

Darkness.

She looked to her right.

Darkness.

She looked above.

Darkness.

All around her, an unknown mist had settled in.

She tried to move, but she was restrained.

She tried to breathe, but the air was low in oxygen...

She tried to think. But she couldn't.

All she could hear was whipsers.

Whispers... continually.

Suddenly, a sharp sound broke the silence.

A long screech as if someone were scraping their nails on a blackboard.

A bright white light shone from ovehead. Mort'dered saw that she was chained to a table.

A man was standing 5 feet away from the bottom of the table.

First his eyes shone blue.

Then his hands...

Then he himself became a body of light, purging all darkness from the room.

Then... It happened.

It was grossly sickening to watch. Tentacles and alien flesh spread out from the man's throat. A shrill squeal arose from the creature's body...

It made its way towards her.

Slowly but surely.

It was ontop of her now.

Then...

A rush of movement as the tentacle moved towards her face.

***Ah...You're awake...Kadsumi...***

Mort'dered awoke from the table feeling strange. Her body was no longer hers. She tried to move her arms, her legs, her head, her neck... Nothing...

***Patience... rest***

Mort'dered didn't know what happened... Was she infected? She had never imagined being infected would be like this. It was... scary to imagine.

Then she heard an echo... What had this thing inside her said?

"Kadsumi?" thought Mort'dered

***"Named"***

"I always thought it was Mort'dered"

***Adopted "Name"...***

"Oh..."

***Kadsumi..."Name"...***

"So.... When will you let me go?"

Mort'dered felt a shudder go across her body. It was petrifying. It was only later she realised the thing was laughing.

***Never...***

"Great. Stuck with an alien inside me forever. How could life get any better"

The alien inside her was laughing quite hard. It seemed it found her extremley amusing.

Then, the laughter stopped.

***'Pregnant?'***

It appeared as surprised as she was.

A sudden excruciating pain arose from her mid-section. It could be worse, but the alien was absorbing most of the pain.

She felt the alien move inside her.... expelling the baby from her body...

"No! Why must you do that!?"

***'Infection'...Infestation...***
***Complete...must!***
"Oh... she thought."

A last excruciating stab of pain arose from her midsection. She felt a tremor across her body as the baby was born. It was a miracle it survived.

"What do we do with it now? Will my child be a nomad? Will it be infested?"

***(an image of peace and serenity... the birth of everything and the knowledge of the universe.)***

***The shrine...***

***"The Last Safe Place".. I know not child...***

"And what about us?"

***Together... We shall find the light.***

Millions of Miles away, onboard the mysterious base known only as the shrine, a small, radiation-proof package arrives at the shrine's doorstep.

The package is unpacked...

A baby is found within.

As the baby opened its eyes, It's eyes glowed faintly blue. Already telepathic, the baby held special powers not many knew of. As it opened its eyes, the walls of the shrine echoed its message.

Everyone knew there was a new member amongst the oracles.
