My name is Sebastian Riordan, Minister of Trade for the Crayter Republic. My office is currently putting together several large scale infrastructural construction projects to improve, increase and secure commercial trade activity in our capitol system of Coronado. We are finalizing details with various contractors and our largest partner, Ageira Technologies, whom you’ve worked extensively with, will be constructing a jump gate linking to the Cortez border world system as the first major segment of our project.
In order to complete the deal, they wish a trusted financier such as yourselves be involved in position as insurer since the Crayter Republic is a new customer to them. We wish to seek terms with your organization regarding this.
Please contact my office at your leisure so that we might explore this potentially fruitful partnership.
Greetings, this is Maddox Dixon, Chief of Business Officer for Interspace Commerce.
Interspace Commerce is always welcoming the grand endeavors of our partners, as such we are watching with keen interest the events unfolding in Cortez and Coronado. However in order for me to greenlight any such project or projects that you maybe undertaking, I require a number of details.
Firstly, we require a rough estimation of the amount of equipment that will be deployed to achieve your aims. We are already aware of the value of Ageira technology, but we are unaware of the amount of such tech you will be needing.
Secondly, we require detailed information regarding the the safety of Coronado. As you maybe aware, the system is currently listed with a Travel Alert status. Interspace Commerce will also need to independently verify your assessment.
Thirdly, we require information to build an understanding about your ability to payback the loan, as well as options of collateral.
Thank you for your cordial and speedy response. Down to business: To answer the first question, the initial phase of our infrastructure project includes the creation of a single stable jumpgate between Cortez and Coronado with a set of trade lanes on either side of said gate. One will lead to Planet Yuma and Sabah Shipyard while the other channel will direct back to Planet Curacao and join the trade network there.
Security is very important to this project, so good you brought it up. With the Carrier Malachite in orbit over Yuma and her squadrons of snubcraft, our response times to any perceived issue is extremely fast. In addition to this, Crayter forces have increased both patrol frequencies and path’s around the intended lane channels, gate site and up to Planet Curacao with Hydra gunships and Nyx fighter escorts. If this were already not overkill enough, we thankfully have the Battlecruiser Yellowstone and her squadrons on deployment to Coronado from Liberty to aid in quelling pirate activities. Liberty forces make daily patrols into Cortez as well so our operation is in good hands.
Lastly, to the financing. The Crayter Republic has quite diversified its economy from its early days of settlement in Coronado. One of the key sectors of our industries is the extremely lucrative metalwork done on Sabah Shipyard with proof of this being the constant stream of trade haulers coming in from the Edge Worlds with loads of ores, most notably Iridium. Additionally, Integral Systems Engineering, our largest Crayterian shipping corporation, is quite profitable moving equipment, products, and raw materials into and out of the Republic. Yuma Robotics continues to marvel us with their streamlining of manufacturing on Yuma and several other companies have set down roots in our Capitol system, hence our need for improved navigation. We work extensively with neighboring corporations such as Gateway Shipping and have long ties to the mining work done in the Tau’s by the Independent Miners Guild. As far as repayment is concerned, a good many options are available to us depending on how you wish to see them manifested.
An option that strikes me perhaps is a percentage of the increased trade import tariffs that will be made possible with our new trade lane network. Lets talk more on this.
With the level of protection offered by the Crayter Republic and Liberty Navy in the area enough that there is sufficient confidence on the security front by the board to agree to the project.
As for how you will finance the project, there are still doubts among the board for the ability to pay the sum that will be due. We would like to know that if in the circumstance that the Republic are unable to repay what is owed, what collateral would they be willing to offer?
The government of the Crayter Republic takes enormous care to the preservation of our integrity and the strength of our relationships we endeavor to create on the world stage. Nevertheless, we understand the position you are presented with, thus, we have prepared options for you. In the form of collateral, we would be willing to offer Interspace twenty million shares of our most profitable shipping corporation, Integral Systems Engineering, whom the state owns a fair bit of. These shares at current value amount to approximately 3.5 billion Sirius Credits. With this project going forwards, these values are expected to grow considerably as well. We have other options if that does not satisfy your request. What do you think?
We would prefer something more concrete and not subject to fluctuation pending the construction of the infrastructure. However we are willing to come to a accord in which part of the price can be paid in shares. But for the collateral, shares would not be accepted.
