Hello all, I started playing Freelancer vanilla back in 2005, I never ventured beyond the campaign, but decided to have a flair of nostalgia and fire up good ol FL. I've known about discovery for many years as well just never got around to looking into it. I joined in last night and played for quite a few hours. In doing so hailed Swift and his myriad of characters. He introduced me to a few changes around the server and was a great help getting started. I look forward to getting to meet more of yall over time, just hopefully not the end of a laser. While I can't say I'd be the best RP'er I'm certainly willing to attempt to.
As for an introduction for the characters I'll be playing.
Mr.Katz is a persona of myself and an offshoot of our dear Trent. Curious, typically friendly unless acted upon, trader/miner by heart believes knowledge is power and researches at local venues to learn more about his environment has random facts for days. No real allegiance to one faction or group but willing to join one that calls him. Likes anything mechanical, wandering space, big ships, and overall credits. He is a true Freelancer.
Baron_Katz follows similarly to above but his allegiance lies only to the noble, you won't see him pirating and looting. He also wont leave a cadet in space to die, be it an enemy or not. He is not so profit oriented as Mr.Katz but still enjoys his creds. You also aren't going to be seeing contraband or even some of the non contraband items such as liberty ale and vodka in his hull. Overall a God fearing, conservative, righteous resident of the universe. Still a trader, but will fulfill contracts from the job board.
There is one more unnamed character you may run into, Baron would probably prefer to never do so, but he is the opposite. Life dealt him a poor choice of cards and he has turned to a alcohol and crime in order to survive. A master of guerrilla warfare. Looking for his people to finally be accepted and claim/lay waste to the cosmos as he pleases. Best not have any delights in your hull upon his unbenounced arrival.
