Not exactly , they are strong , but only so in the right hands. It's because many of the players who RP as hunters are so darn good , that people start to think that the ships are too strong. In reality , they are well balanced and good at what they need to do. But it's true that BH ships are the hardest to hit , because they have agility on their side.

If any changes need to be made, then clearly define the differences in roles between the Dessie and BC, rather than trying to create a hybrid.
Obviously team work is important if not essential. However, you don't always have the luxury of having many friends to fly with.
Again, to belabor a point, "versatile" and "flexible" don't equate to "all-powerful". Regardless of what faction you play in, any capital ships you fly will need some degree of teamwork to do any serious damage - and come home in one piece.
The idea I had wasn't so much a hybrid as a rethinking of a ship class for the BH line. But this discussion is only academic, since creating a new ship and discarding 2 would be unfeasible. At least according to Doom and I believe he knows what he's talking about.

If you balance ships to be powerful enough to hold their own solo, then those ships will become ridiculously overpowered in large groups. The argument that 'you don't always have friends/allies to fly with' is irrelevant, because you always have the choice whether to fight or not. If you're by yourself you should be choosing not to fight, and if you do fight, and lose, it's not a problem with the ship.
' Wrote:Yes, BC can. But heavy cruisers will lose all energy on 2 LM, its a waste of a slot to mount 2 for any fight.
Anyways if BC can fire 3 mortars in quick succession, then why not get BC instead of dessie? Isn't BHG BC the only BC at the moment with thruster anyways? It doesn't get more robust than that...
No, it isn't. don't forget the Order "Geb" Heavy BC
agreed, in any battle its always a good idea to have a couple of friends covering your back. An if it comes to a point to were you have no choice but to fight under gunned and outnumdered its a good idea to remember the three opions you have in battle (meanin to run, fight,or hide) demeaning as it may be i would prefer to run.
Well, the Battlecruiser and Destroyer have two different missions.
The Destroyer is designed for anti-gunboat / fleet support. It does a very nice job with two battle razors and 6 regular BHG turrets. And with the mobility that this ship has, you're in good shape.
The Battlecruiser can do one of two things. It can provide serious firepower support in a fleet operation, being capable of firing 3 light mortars, switching to turrets, and then continuing to fire. Or it can fire one regular mortar, one light, and then turrets. Or it can act as a flagship in its own right with supporting ships. Being able to EK while in cruise, then pivoting, allows it to keep targets in the forward arc.
Remember who we're supposed to be engaging with these guys - the Order. Two Battlecruisers are enough to take out an Osiris if there's nothing else interfering. And one on one, the Battlecruiser can take on the Carrier.
Just don't do what I did the other day, which was forget that I had the 'go to' set. That didn't turn out well at all.
