Wow...this is the most popular thread I've ever had... HOW SAD is that?

Blame: Well Hmmm...

Who do I blame. I think modders as well and the absence of the Admins... ooooh where are you oh Gods of Disco... *puts up the Disco Ball Signal... We NEED you!!!

*laffs

Might this have been a denial of service?
Every time I got a major lag spike the system chat told me that several cheaters had been kicked out and than the lag went away again.

Not a DDoS. That's happened before and it resulted in the server being totally shut down until the issue's resolution. Some interesting stories came out of it though.

The kicked players were probably lootmodding/some other cash-increasing hack.

Well I hope it doesn't become a daily problem, other than that, i'm happy to wait a day for it to resolve.

I'm pretty sure it's not a DoS attack. I think Boss' instincts are right on the money. I also agree with Ivan. I have no issue waiting for a resolution, but I think that something should be done to address it. I'm sure the admin team will be all over this when they see the server logs. *crosses fingers.

One can always blame cheaters, bad weather, and couple other things.

So what's going on?

Not much. Back to building robots, rockets, and learning how to fly real spaceships.

I too am experiencing absurd quantities of lag. No little lag indicator either. My ping comes up about normal, too.

I just went on, everything was back to normal. The server should have restarted by now.

It's still going on intermittently. It's not like packet lag where my ping will be 500ms but if I do something, like for instance, run /ping, it will take around 10 seconds to execute then it will run ping just fine. Some sort of delay function in the program gone berzerk or what?
