It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you noobs with datastorm, flstat and freelancer companion get owned because of bad info.

Stop using programs to do your thinking for you, I've never touched any of those programs and I still find trade routes just fine - the good old fashioned way.

THIS.

Better yet, stop using programs to do your playing for you. Isn't like half of the entire bloody point of this game finding things?

I mainly use said programs to find things my character should already know. Like the locations of the best places to sell item x that his company makes. Or where I can pick up a ship made by my faction. Or how to get there (Cape Soya is hell to find if you don't know where to go and even then you need to be smart about it. And you need to get there to buy a transport, of all things...). I also use FLCompanion to find routes that connect and take me more than just back and forth... with all the wars going on, a little planning goes a long way.

I use the same old route, but now and then I flip through companion to find better routes. Lesson learnt last patch, didn't get to do the helgoland run because I used it too late. I'm going to run it on day 1 of any patch from now on and keep my big mouth shut if I do find something.

I am not a guy that use FLcompanion for routefinding and I dont do it the "old fashioned way" either.

Routes Xoria pointed out in update 1 are pretty good ones.

Still, FLC is pretty useful to find locations of stuff like JH.

And FLstats and DS are only useful for stats and for looking at infocards. And when wiki editing was done the "old fashioned way".
