Well, There isnt a real reason for a lolwhut to try to join a faction. as it stands, an idnie can do a ****load more than an official faction guy can do. And, Look at vannila. no matter what you did, you could not "join" a faction, just get in their good graces. Case in point: NPC corp gets megatrain, you get drom.
THat seems quite Excessive, but when it gets to: Indie LABC get everything a faction one gets and more: There is no real incentive to join one. Battleship control, leader ID's, maybe some extra cash doled out to pay for setting up new members, Increase PVP freedoms, something of the sort. But do something!
And yes not all indies are such, but Im sure he talked about the majority of silent traders or gammaberty/oc cap spam.
Now I know we want to keep fairiness, but do we really want to keep equelity about which that terrible majority don't give a crap? Do not seek fairness themselves? You know you need to earn respect or right by doing something. Not just have it becouse you want it. Right is right not privilage. Every right has drawbacks. Remeber this before trying to flame it.
How many times nice events, rp's were ruined just becouse some avarage joe can buy a battleship and totaly outbalance a nice fight engaging into the fight without any premission from people who like to keep things fair?
I think each of you can count it numerous times.
(For example. Me and Grim tried to have some fun with bucaneers. What you know, we just start to talk, and a indie gb shows and starts shooting them)
Now about Jimmy.Paterson of course some indies are really known, but that minority of good indies are pushed by the majority of worse ones. Perhaps they won't gone anywhere, but atleast they will loose the power to skrew everything up with powertraded bs with cau VIII.
besides, you have an example what indies does. Order wants a drastic reform.
What I fear is that all the indies will just join stable player faction, in huge numbers. Turn them into lolwuttery, and the faction leaders wont be able to control all the players. Then, we will have a server where everyone has a tag of thier NPC faction :(
Tight knit factions run best. Overpopulation and underpopulation destroy a faction.
Limit indies, but dont make it so that just joining a player faction will give them all their stuff back.
No official control of capital ships. Again, Jihad's idea.
Capital ships can be forcefully removed by admins if...
- Bad conduct on part of Capship, warned once, progressive disicipline, ect.
I hate player factions. All they're leaders are either completely opposite of my personality (which does not mix well let me TELL you) And, most leaders are bossy litte 12 year olds who like power and probably will be a cop or principal when they gwow up. The thing they do with the ships is also lame. Those who RP well with capships deserve to get them earlier than others. Not that "Spend 12 weeks on fighter, buy gunboat, ect" crap. I hate that the most.
