The bounty system is player-driven. You can post a page of garbage or you can post a page of nicely laid out, legible and eye catching material.
Zapp keeps an index of active bounties pinned in the sub forum.
When you claim payment, just bear in mind the people paying are people for whom Disco is a hobby. Paying bills in real life sucks enough without us imposing it on ourselves here.
Spurious and disingenuous bounties are pretty easily dealt with.
FL Hook bounty system was considered before and turned down for a number of reasons - among which the fact that it would destroy the forum aspect of bounties.
As I said, it's player-driven. If anyone has spare time to compile a universal database of bountied people go ahead. People who are deovted to hunting on one character usually negotiate the system easily enough witha little patience. It should require a small bit of an effort to find work.
That, and normally a simple PM to the person running things, because as Athenian says - we have RL to deal with as well. The board I pay off of had nothing posted for two months - then a bunch of bounties, which I batch paid - and then nothing again for a while. Now there are some built up and I'll pay them when I have time. But a lot of the time I spend is acting as playground monitor instead of being just for fun.
Just for example, I spend at least 30 minutes every day just checking the validating membership for spambots, so that can make it easier for Korrd to delete them. Plus on average another hour (or more) going through watching for flames, trials by forum, and answering regular questions. Now - consider that I also work from 8 to 5 at a full time job, I'm married and a grandfather so I'm GOING to spend some time with family - paying bounties is at best a once a month thing for me.
