I rediscovered it a month ago. In 8.4 I used to try it out, but it then turned like a cruiser. Now it is a nice agile ship.
The balance is quite good, my setup is six Wildfires to the front, thre PG-turrets to the rear, a Minirazor, Screamer-mine (in case I need to go against something slow with a big shield).
The hull is a little weak, so I sacrificed a third of my cargo-hold and outfitted it with a Cap4 upgrade. Now it fits the infocard better, where it is stated as a "light freighter".
A ship with a good turning, Minirazor and a freighter-shield is not something that should be underestimated. Not to forget the power-capacity a freighter has.
My favourite ship at the moment. Fits a certain traderoute perfectly, which I have customed just for it (includes RP to make it work). I even make 25mil with the (now) 300 unit-cargo-hold in only a few hours with it. That really surprised me.

Yes. You won't see me moving through Rheinland in the future either if I can avoid it by any means. I, myself see X-shuttles once in a while. A lot more than I see Rheinland-freighters. But please, let's not remove the Rheinland-freighters because of that; sometime I might want to try one of them out.

And you cannot compare the X-shuttle or any other freighter with the AT or a Gull. The AT is easy to take out compared to the X-shuttle. I have two ATs with different loadouts parked in Conn, I know what I am talking about.

Give it better guns and it will be truly devastating. I am doing fine with the six class 8 guns. They match the powercore nicely and leave a little energy for the Minirazor.

I don't mind the ship, but it could do with new model that isn't green and has proper engines. Keep the same shape though.

Let's put effort in fixing Homeworld imports first. The X-shuttle has at least a cockpit. I figured that the visibility of the canopy is dependend on your graphics-card. I can see it just fine with my emulated card right now where I almost didn't see it when my ATI-card still worked.

Ah Ha!. So, the problem with this is my graphics then.

I can see a Very faint outline of it currently.

I wonder if there is anything I can do to make it more visible . . . .

Other than that, I think the ship is perfect the way it is. The Mods gave her a nice buff in the latest update; personally, I wouldn't change anything else other than the canopy, IF many others is experiencing the same issues as myself.

Did I ever say that this would take preference over anything else? Hardly anyone uses it so that in itself should place it a fair way down the list.

The X shuttle is quite a nice looking boat. It's charmed alot of us, but i guess it could use a few perks in the Y axis department.
