Opinions on Kusari Naming Conventions

I tend to use family.given myself. Ketara.Inoshi. Some of the other AI use this too, but most go western. Given.Family.

HMQ said it well in another thread:

If you want it to be a westernized Japanese name, then continue naming your "Kusari" characters in the same way that we use names regularly, if you want it to have a really "Japanese/Kusari" feel to it, then go with Surname first.

...and because Jei is around today and I want to appease him:

HMQ has a good idea here, basing it on the character RP. Perhaps it would be wiser for a Kusari company rep to use Firstname.Lastname as not to confuse the foreigners, etc. whereas Blood Dragons and the like would use Surname.Firstname.

In short:

EG my Kusari-blooded Guild Master refers to himself as Ichimoto Nozaki (Family.Given). However, I named the character GMG|Nozaki.Ichimoto (Given.Family) because it makes less confusion for all the western-brained Sirians.

As Sov said, those of us who are Kusari vets will understand it.. No one else will. It's simpler to just go with the western version of Given.Family.

There is an aweful lot of confusion between naming conventions in Kusari, as there are many people who dont know that Japanese names go as Family.Given rather than the more 'common' Given.Family.

My Kusari characters go with Given.Family, so I dont have people calling my character by their surname. Its purely for convenience.

Edit: However I wont vote, as what I want to see isnt what I tend to use.

Do it right or don't do it at all, and certainly don't Americanize it to make it easier for foreigners.
