I'm new to this server and sorry if it sounds stupid, but how do i give my character an ID, eg Neutral or Trader.

Any helpful advice welcome : )

It's like any other piece of equipment. Go to a planet, click on equipment dealer, click on the right-most ship fitting icon to see a list of things you can buy (the screen with the nanobots and shield batts). Buy the new one and replace your old one. Different planets have different IDs.

In case you are not aware of this. Whenever you buy a new ship be sure to transfer your ID or you will have to buy a new one. When you buy a new ship it will not automatically transfer your ID. Without one you will not be able to tractor in goods.
