But srsly tho, I was refering to the fact that it makes no sense (which can be oorp on that grounds, as its a case of balance breaking immersion) for some ships to have guns that cant even shoot their own length, and thusly having the guns mounted in the rear of the ship barley able to reach past the nose of the ship.

And as the shortest ranged cap turrets are the ones that supposedly are designed to defend them (solaris) that problem is even worse on said large caps, as they are the biggest target their is, but are unable to defend themselves.

You're using a totally irrelevant word to describe something.

You mount a handgun on a tank, it's not going to automatically make the handgun shoot further.

And if this were a land compat game instead of a space combat game and a PLAYER RPd mounting a handgun to the tank, it would no doubt be called, if not OORP...... well it'd be called something rude.


And since you set up the use of the analogy yourself............. mounting the .85 solaris makes as much sense as mounting a hand gun on a tank.
