concerning the keepers:

consider this, chicks have their periods. they do some stuff differently when they do. like the keepers. i made a decent deal of rp with my keeper, but frankly, most of the time i just feel like shooting stuff with them. but i dont. why? because if i happen to stumble upon a guy with a small penis that will demand satisfaction for 3 weeks until he realises the ID i have approves of just shooting people without saying a word, i know exactly what happens. i open the forum and see multiple thread like that daily.

Q_Q i got shot at
Q_Q i lost my cargo
Q_Q i lost my ore
Q_Q i started the shooting but i ate my own mine NERF THE ENEMY SHIPS!

several variants exist. the one that would emerge after such an encounter is Q_Q no rp engagement!

i dont do that. unless the guy on the other side is acting like a complete knob. why? the keepers are something awesome that was made by a few individuals. doing things that will cause threads like this to emerge gives me a stupid feeling of tarnishing someone's work. that's why we do the aestherix spam. because people complain about lack of aestherix spam.

so quit yer b!tch!n'!

ps: ivan forced me to post.

I'm kinda sad that you guys aren't ultra aggressive "a" holes and that the roleplay is defined by much words that make other people toss jokes at you.
I asked something about nomads today and people told me that the most fun and most roleplay they had was while they were craving for nomad ID approval - so while they were morphs.
kinda sad.

Thing is though, you've got to remember that we're players too. We don't become Nomads for the PVP, we join for the RP that comes with it. If you want nomads to fight, provoke us. Go to Iota, away from NPCs, and broadcast your location.

Gaunt that wasn't what I was thinking about. I meant that the roleplay keepers are doing could be done differently.

Why not trough green messages, why not trough collaborative roleplay resulting in corrupting someone's head and making him go mad. Like some bigger characters, leaders, co-leaders etc.

Those things would be awesome and would offer a lot of diversity. Hell even quiet shooting can be better than what I saw at NY. Guy comes to NY and starts roleplaying a keeper and people respond in system with same ***+++++** crappola and make fun of him.

if i was a keeper I would be disappointed.
I'd love to test out a nomad and their roleplay for a day.

On another thing:
I encountered a wilde once... He placed images in my head of my home burning and my family dying in tragical death should I engage his ship.

That kind of roleplay sucks. Just so you do not thing that ^ is the stance i'm for.

also, go invictus go.

Well, perhaps you just haven't met the right Keepers. I personally strike a happy medium between your stereotypical Keeper, and the Wilde you encountered. If we're in a calm, quiet spot, or number greatly enough we do, do the things you're talking about. Visions and Nom speak, even an avatar speaking in a more sort of poetic alteration of your average person's speech.

Look at the Spectres for example, they're more or less humans that we've either corrupted or convinced, depending how you look at it, to spy and work for us; hell, we might even try to corrupt some big official, but they power-game right back (despite Nammus+ having enough psychic power to probably be able to corrupt a cruiser) and basically tell us to rack off.

Try us, find us somewhere secluded and engage in RP with us. Hell, keep an eye out for Minerva, and providing shots aren't being fired, you may even get some good RP out of it.

Stange guy. I wouldn't even mind his muttering in forums.

Oh and also.. Xenos are nationalist extremists, not patriots. Diffrence! And IRA are terrorists atleast now. By attacking civilian targets to install fear (terror) into people's mind, that civilian would make pressure on goverment to do something about it (mostly - comply with terrorist ideas and requiriments)

People comparing real life with Discovery Freelancer makes me cry and die a little. The reason we roleplay here is because it's different from real life for a start, it's an escape from the harsh and cruel real world. Discovery roleplay is mostly based around fairness and entertainment, we play it for fun not realism.

We create our own reality.

This ought to be printed out, signed and submitted to a anti-Q_Q repository, by all players on Disco.

Now excuse me, while I go listen to Taylor Swift, just to please Cabulb. Although I will burn the CD and trash the stereo afterwards.

So how -do- you communicate with keepers/nommies? These things the keepers broadcast seem more general statements of mood, and I'm told they do not use radio for communication. So how does a non-keeper who is not privvy to the way keepers work, figure out how to communicate with them properly? And in layman's terms if ye wil, something a person only a day on the server could understand.

I've tried to get someone to explain this a few times now but so far, no conclusive answers. It's hard to respond to a broadcast that isn't over radio, and signifies only an emotional state.

Hm, about his guy, I just can say that I believe he needs to join a simple pvp server. Like alot of guys on disco I so far met. Lot of lolplay pew pew out there, especially in NY.
Anyways, but two points I have to agree. First the thing about escaping a fight and sowith being defeadet. But anyways, about that I few weeks made an own topic and I won`t speak about it here.
The second case is indeed the nomads for me. I as roleplayer would have no problem with them being much more aggresive to other players. I so far just had four situations with Nomand players. All were by far strange to me. Well, okay, my character hates Nomads (family losses on freeport 7 etc. pp.). Anyways. First was in Kusari space. Just few minutes after two brave navy pilotes forced me to drop contrabant Nomadbrains ("This is no stuff meant to be in civilian hands"), a player in a nomad light fighter appeared next to me. I switched my char to rage modus and attacked it in my bomber, of course not able to really catch it and yelled in system channel, calling the navy for help. Three times I called position etc. Only reply was "Whu? what is going on?". The worst case about nomads I sofar had was when a Liberty Navy Dread captain was "feeding" a Nomad gunboat with cookies (dropped food rations). I mean wtf?
