So by your argument, the Firefly isn't Sirius-wide Civilian since it doesn't have "Civilian" as part of its name.
Quote:Furthermore, your argument that the description mentions "built in Bretonia" is defunct if we are accepting that a Falcata can be flown by an Indie pirate despite the description clearly mentioning Outcasts.
Except not. The Falcata has "Border Worlds" in the name, so it's a Border Worlds ship. ("Series ZX Border Worlds Bomber").
If the name says what it is, then you know what it is. If, as in the case of the Firefly, the name doesn't say anything, you have to go to the infocard.
Quote:I can switch to a Smuggler ID. Though it kind of sucks that I won't be able to pirate occasionally.
Thanks for the advice everyone
The Firefly is useless for pirating. You can only shoot four turrets in any direction.
That said, if that's your intent, you should totally use the Firefly for pirating. I look forward to running into you trying to pirate me.
' Wrote:Yet it's open use. As far as I'm concerned, Firefly is open use as well. Admin input would be appreciated, though.
Already responded--the Falcata explicitly says "Border Worlds" as part of the name, so you don't even need to look at the info card.
Quote:Double edit. Checked other infocards, tons of such examples...Eagle, Raven's Talon, Kusari Explorer...should I name more?
The Eagle explicitly says "Civilian" in the name, making it Civilian Sirius-wide. The Firefly doesn't.
The Raven's Talon infocard states that it's freely available on the black market. The Firefly's infocard says nothing of the sort.
The Kusari Explorer is Civilian Kusari, not Civilian Sirius-wide, but thanks for helping me prove my point.

I'd really like to know who says that it works that way
And, true, KusEx is Kusari Civilian, had forgotten. But it doesn't prove your point.
Edit: read the review on the wiki page:
Quote:Being made and sold in and around Bretonia its purchase is slightly restricted, but only by the tiniest margin.
Maybe it's restricted after all *shrug*. But I really fail to see why. More open use ships would be nice.

No it is not, it can fit a train CD. Which is the entire reason I chose it over the BWTrans. It's not like I am going to be solo pirating in it. Merely acting as support/hauler to bring tasty loot back to Malta, or hunting NPCs. As I understand it, smugglers cannot assist piracy.
Besides, I despise having to fly a PTrans. Especially if I've got a perfectly good Firefly all repped and equipped:ylove:.
That being said, I just realised I can stick a generic pirate ID on it and still smuggle between pirate bases =P
