Also, do any of the Houses perform conscription for that matter, or are all the military forces considered 'Standing Professional Army'?
Under current circumstances, I'd say Bretonia should go for total mobilization. Which means the draft of people between 18- 50 years, forced labor, and other things essential for surviving. Although in Freelancer warfare, population base doesn't matter too much when you have at least few tens of millions people, since main battles are going in space.
Ontopic: although it probably stays with the old system, and as a result having absolutely zero chance to win the war by itself, unless some tactic genious appear.

See Bowex. We've been using our ExSec and Clydesdale wings as a Bretonian militia. We've been having a good rate of success, working throughout Bretonia and on the shipping lanes between Houses. The RP of a corporate militia is actually really fun, and makes sense seeing as we're a nationalised corporation with a large private security force.
Also, conscription was discussed in the Bretonian Parliament when players still posted in it, and overturned by a large majority. Conscription really wouldn't do much good, seeing as it'd be the same as trying to conscript fighter-jet pilots today - it takes too long and it's too expensive to conscript a normal guy to fly a ship.
On the other hand, it would make sense if all eligible Bretonian citizens with flight experience were drafted into the BAF. Of course, protected trades would be exempt from this - nationalised groups such as BMM and Bowex - perhaps Planetform too. Only problem with this would be the huge adverse affect this could have on groups like IMG and Gateway, seeing as all their Bretonian escorts would get conscripted. Not really ideal, from a fairplay point of view.

Read the infocards, Kusari's invasion has already come to a halt. The war is at a stalemate.

Yeah? Thanks, probably I got misinformed at some point...

Well, it would also depend on what kind of training and investment in general a new recruit requires.
Because, for example, you might use a conscript infantry, that will serve 1-2 years.
Making a conscript fighter pilot (Unless conscription term is long enough) is inefficient.
Ideologically, I think Rheinland would be able to use conscription even in the peace time... same for Kusari.

Yeah... no. Conscripts would be useless. It would take far too much training and specialization to make a drafted army even remotely useful in such circumstances.
Actually, no.
For regular ground infantry, where you simply need large quantities of numbers, conscription would work fine. If we got into a situation where it was a shooting war between the U.S. and China, for example, you'd see conscription come back in a big way, because we'd need lots of bodies.
So if there was an actual ground component to the game, conscription would be viable for the houses, especially due to the ongoing wars. Since there isn't, there's no actual need for conscripts.

I am amazed Liberty is actually sending forces to Omegas.
I wonder if Kusari should send a couple of Chimaeras there, why not.
They are way closer to Omegas then Libertonians, and they are on good terms with Rheinland.
If Liberty is aiding Bretonia, why is Kusari standing by? They should either make pressure in Leeds, or go to Omegas too, since this is what you lot want.
Slight offtopic, but what can a man do, the 'real deal thread' was locked.
