Who needs a PTrans when you got an armed Hege... 8 guns reaching front and aft. Big target, but a lot more hull and bots/bats then the PTrans.
's just folk equipping them with all mining guns or transport type 4 guns that makes them seem weak.

The same arguement you make could be made for the junkers. How can an organization with bases in all the three houses be engaged in open piracy outside them? Simple: The law does not reach there. Officially.
Well, it's only partially true, since the "lawfull" pirate better be sure the victim of his piracy will never reach the house space to report that... Like, I dunno, Gazprom ships (doesn't matter if he really has any) will try to pirate BP ship in independant waters... can you imagine the consequences?
(well, anyway, inRL junker stations would be full of House intelligence and security services that would shut down most of the cardamine and other contraband traffic, not speaking about what would happen to most of the pirate bases... but Freelancer is Freelancer...)
' Wrote:Wait..wait...wait....Miner IDed pilots are more or less civilians. How can a lawful organization with ties and bases in House Space legally shoot civilians? Isn't it against the humanism laws of Sirius or somesuch?
No, Freelancer Miners (Miner ID -players) are competition for IMG, they are a "threat".
You would think IMG would waste their gun energy on house cleaning pirates and other armed threats. Not some petty excuse to kill someone over a few credits. They are no better than pirates at that rate.
That is my problem IMG has cruisers and this and that. To fight off aggressors? Certainly since Outcasts groups are well armed. Which would less make them a Civilian armed force than Paramilitary. Which what I classify them as, paramilitary.
But the clause to kill anyone who treads on your field is more like thugs with guns.
How else could I equate this? Oh yeah drug lords.
But it's funny that I see less outcasts killing each other over cardi fields than miners corporations killing each other over ore fields.
I dunno basically think it's wacked, even in non house systems.
But IMG aha....IMG hasn't had a swell time with any encounters with my or my fleet. So whatever floats their boat will eventually get sunk my me and my fleet so let them have it.

Yea, well. Disco has never been much of a community to assign consequences. At worst the house offended can FR5 the "criminal" miner and send mercenaries after him/her. We've had issues with an IMG splinter group doing direct piracy against Kruger and Daumann in the omegas before, there was very little anyone could do about it. Short of repeatedly shoot them to pieces. Rules didn't allow us to FR5 em 'cause their actions were within the scope of the ID.
