the Bretonian corporations should (IRP) be towing away the bases of LD-14 and stokes to a more safe location,
if for example the dutch shore would be under attack the first they would target is the offshore oildrills
which would yield them massive resources in the fight..
if those oil rigs would be moved to a safe part of europe (somewhere around denmark) the resources could still be gathered after the war has ended.
I very much want to tow Stokes into the stokes asteroid field, mine the place up, and make it a base as safe as Arranmore.
LD14 could be pulled into the back of the Smog cloud, hidden. Tada, safe.
But to be perfectly clear, an invastion likely entails things being blown up.
I expect Glouchester station and Stokes should be heavily damaged, and as LD14 is so important to national security, as well as reasonably small, it may be able to pull it to safety...but then, it could be caught at a fairly nasty place, like, perhaps, chilling right next to the sun.
Leeds will fall, it's generally accepted, the only issue I feel is getting the two new Bretonian Systems up and running, and providing those two systems with everything Leeds is, and more.
Otherwise, the system of Bretonian trade, mining and whatnot will be thrown into disarray, in Bretonia, all roads lead to Leeds, so to speak. A lot of Liberty routes rely on the Leeds area being easily accessible via the Magellan hole, the two new systems seem to be out of the way, making most of the new trade routes quite long distance/annoying.
I don't know how the battlefront will develop, but it's safe to say that something has to give, at the very least the Stoke area. Remembering that Gallia's goal is attacking Liberty, they need a route to Liberty, and unless they add a jump gate to Manchester in Newcastle, the route to Liberty for Gallia is either behind planet Leeds, or occupying the entirety of Leeds/top half of New London to get to Manchester.

If Bretonia was really working in such secret projects for so much years why arent there any results? Is it possible some kind of knowledge to be found there and the Queen to keep it as an ace? I dont speak only about weapons but maybe some kind of shield technology able to protect a planet rendering it impenetrable, similar to the Nomad City's unknown shield?? This research station is very important to the armed forces but its reason to be build there is not yet revealed.
Well, the station, like everything else in the system, was added by one random system modder who had a penchant for making things big, and over the top.
But, most houses have these kinds of stations anyways, I think the Paladin infocard makes reference to Sunderland for its high tech design or somesuch.
I think planet shields have been RP'd ever since the Phantom lolbombing of planet Cambridge once upon a time.
