Messieurs, Mesdames,

Earlier today, I have been informed by an inside source that one of my most trusted men, the Maréchal Leon Chevalier released a public statement on all Gallic frequencies regarding his defection and the infection of the Kingdom.

If Leon did this, then there has to be a very good reason as he was supposed to stay as long as possible within the ranks of the Royal Navy to gather intelligence and find potential allies within the Navy itself for our cause. Protests have followed, quickly escalating into a sanguinary slaughterhouse, the GRN deploying squads of it's own along with Peacekeeper mechs armed with lethal weaponry. The Maréchal Ansel Xavier, a supposed infected, released a counter-statement, supposedly including words from my father himself nobody has seen for months.

We need to find Leon. He might possess some informations they do not want us to have, and he may have managed to find some inside allies, something we could use in these troubled times. I also suspect after my appearence in the battle against the Royal Navy yesterday in Magellan, they must be scheming something regarding myself already. Fortunately enough, nobody suspects Leon planted bugs all over the Royalist communication satellites. I will be able to release a statement of my own, unable to be censored or removed for several hours before they figure out what is going on, and that using the protocols of my father himself, touching everybody, everywhere in all of Sirius and Gallia.

I will be in need of a total access to all of the Liberty satellites in order to reroute the message to Gallia, which will be rerouted itself by the bugged Royalist satellites under the priority level of my father. This requires your authorisation President Powell, if I am correct.

Interestingly, right after I sent this transmission, I received one from Leon. He is in the Leeds system, and the infecteds are not far behind according to him. Counting on the Bretonians for this one is not to be expected, considering they shoot on sight any GRN vessel.

His proposition is that we meet at the Leeds jumphole in Magellan. Hostiles are to be expected, and not limited to GRN vessels. Nomads may show up.

With your permission, I need to go there with the Normandie, and any ship you can dedicate to this operation.

Evening.

I will be able to spare an escort wing for the operation, if required. A number of assets have been placed on standby for the purpose. As soon as the order is given they'll be deployed to the Normandie group.

The content of Chevalier's message, having had it translated for me, is troubling. I can assume he would only have released such a statement if he believed his position was in some way compromised. any information he is capable of relaying to us would of course be invaluable. Naturally our involvement is down to the President and Secretary of State for Defense's decision, however it has my support.

However, I would also suggest to Mr Powell and mr McKay that the Bretonian Armed Forces are contacted and their support on this matter is sought. Not only may Chevalier's information prove useful to them, but also, isolating and destroying pursuing groups of Royal Navy craft would be extremely beneficial to their own war effort. If they become aware of the operation the Gallics are likely to initiate in an attempt at capturing Chevalier, a large victory could be won with comparative ease.

It would also be rather helpful not to have our source of information and, as I understand Alice, a loyal friend of yours, shot by our allies.

Greetings.

I'll try to keep this brief. Some of the LSF forces have already been deployed in the Leeds system to assist the Bretonians with the Gallic threat. We will probably dispatch more agents there in the nearest future.

Our current presence in Bretonia may not be that large, but our forces can provide the necessary support, should the President and the Secretary of State for Defense authorise this operation. The agents who are now stationed in Liberty could move to Magellan with the Naval forces. In the meantime, our agents in Leeds could rendezvous with Chevalier and proceed to the Magellan jumphole.

That way our agents may keep the pursuers busy and buy Chevalier some time to escape. If that's not the case, the forces deployed in Magellan will at least be informed of the opposition. I wouldn't count on that, but we might even manage to catch the pursuers off guard when Chevalier and his escorts reach Magellan.

It is somewhat rare that I would give personal authorisation for a military operation. However considering the potential importance and sensitive nature of this particular operation... Not to mention the status of Princess DeFrance, I am authorising whatever means are necessary to retrieve this operative.

Fleet Admiral Hale and Director Dawson, before you deploy to the area, ensure the Bretonian admiralty is aware of the situation. As you rightly say, Hale, it would be most unfortunate if our allies were to shoot someone who may or may not be considered one of our own.
