Hmm.. The infocards and stuff from the .dll shouldn't be causing it to crash.. It could be something in the system causing it. First thing I'd suggest is start in a vanilla system, then fly to Tau-42 and jump into the system. If it crashes when you jump in, then something is wrong with your system and its not your .dll info.

Have you been making backups of your system? You should be making a different folder for each backup.. If you make 4 stations, you should be making a backup of the system, making a station, testing, then saving that as your backup if it works. Then you go onto the second station and test. If it works, that goes as the backup, if it doesn't, you go back to the backup you made after modding the first station and restart from there.. That way when modded systems CTD on jump-in/undock/dock you can start from a sort of 'saved point' in case you can't find the problem. Plus it narrows down what could be the problem, as it would be something added in AFTER the last version that worked.

Call me Lucy and die.

Anywho, I'm having problems with the NPC spawning. I kinda get the basic concept, but if I try and simply copy the encounter info from a pre-existing zone they still don't spawn. (Or FL crashes out)

Any useful tips/tricks? Or do I just have to keep messing with it till it works?

"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."

' Wrote:If your speaking about the base names, infocards, asteroid field names, etc. you add that in with FLEd-ids.. That can edit it directly into the .dll. And yes, there are some programs that can make reading .dll possible, I have one, but there is a LOT of stuff in that .dll file that you don't want to sift through.

First, tell me exactly what it is that you need and what the problem is in making your own version.
When I did mine, I made a complete Disco copy, then edited that copy from the start. Makes it a LOT easier when doing this. However, for that .dll you'll need to reenter all the information with FLEd-ids into the Disco copy if you want it to show up. After that you'd just activate the copy as you would the normal Disco mod and test it via LAN or Open SP.

I'm doing the same thing as him,,, Although it took me like a while to tame FLIDS . . .

I'm myself making two system atm. Don't forget to compress them once done bef sending them to testers... since the file is 150mb big uncompressed.

Humm I'm at work so I don't have anything here...

But, how do you add your patrols in the mod?

You copy an entry from the .ini or add them in FLE?

Always use FLE for new Zone Populations and Patrols. [b]Never[b/] copy pre-existing ones, as it crashes (as you've seen). If you want a Zone pop the exact same as another, find the information for it, then copy it MANUALLY through FLE. I believe my tutorial has Zone Pops and Patrols covered (still need to finish the tutorial.. Yes, I know I'm lazy.)

First of all, thanks a bunch for making a tut like that. ;)

Secondly, I use FLE for the patrols, and I did copy them from another system. (Tau 44 to be exact, except for the faction of course)

I think I'll just stick to the Zone pops for now. Again, thanks for the help Dab!

Just to make sure, Patrol paths or patrol area?????

Patrol paths = CRASH, unless you really really know how to make them,

PS: Everything(nearly) can be created via ini editing only. Creating patrol area that way is very easy. Just make sure you don't make a typo XD
