' Wrote:Borderworld line is more or less civilian unlawful, with the stipulation that Corsairs may not use em. Come 4.86 it won't be much of an issue anymore since everyone's favorite fighter, the Sabre, is getting a nice old maneuverability nerf which will probably bring it to the level of standard civvy ships.
Most factions that rely on the Borderworlds line historically already have a line of their own. Outcasts being the notable exception. But last I heared, 101st was working on that one.

It used to be that the Sabre, Titan, and Eagle were balanced against each other in various ways, with the Eagle being in the middle.
To balance the unbalance being created by nerfing the Sabre, will the dev team also nerf the Titan? The thing that would need to be changed most is Titan's superior armor rating, the total hull would need to be lowered to help regain balance among these three ships.
Or are we just going to keep with the current trend of Corsairs having superior ships in every way mentality? Already the Corsair ships outclass Outcast ships with superior armor and power cores. If you take away the Outcast's balance of maneuverability then you're doing more harm than good to the balance of the ship lines and mod in general.

Can you honestly expect anything else, 4.85 took one and a half years to develop.
4.86 celebrated it's two year in-development anniversary last month
with statements from Igiss that 4.86 was scheduled for a much shorter development time.
I'm pleasantly surprised that a game this old with a stunted development mod still
manages to max out server connections at peak usage time.
Kudos to those that still manage interest and the new users who make up the community.
PS. Congrats on the admin promotion.

Oh please, let's not piss all over this thread, mmkay?

Used to be. Considering the Eagle has less armor, less firepower, and a lesser powercore than the Sabre all while being a somewhat large target and hardly out-turning the latter to compensate, the Sabre is definitely the middle ground as it is, doesn't help any that the Eagle needs a decent buff (but that's for another thread entirely).
' Wrote:WHY are the devs not allowed to give out information. This is an open mod and a community and it has all the right to be part of the development process.
Because Spaz various personal interests will meet the outraged community ultimately conflicting with one's desires to be Discovery master-race. And though a part of me will cry deeply I will laught my lungs off if 4.86 fails in a grandiouse fashion
The Border Worlds line is the BW Transport, Dromedary, and the Sabre line of fighters/bombers (Dagger, Scimitar, Stilletto, Switchblade, Sabre, Falcata).
They are Outcast originated (one would think), but have spread beyond that, and thus for use by anyone affiliated with the Outcasts or any civvies who want one.
The Pirate line (Bactrian, Mule, PTrans, PTrain) is completely separate and open use for anyone.
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
But really, I understand that the dev team is busy and whatnot. I never ask these sort of questions, but with no end in sight to this next update, I think a ridiculously simple yes or no question is completely within reason.
Are -- or aren't -- BW ships being placed on Zoner bases come 4.86?
Pretty asinine. Devs frequently mention small details on the forums. If one decides to do so here will you delete their post and give them a forum ban, Zelot?
Why is it so important that everyone be kept in complete darkness, even in the case of miniscule details?
