Sillyness and thoughts of me coming back aside, this is probably the stupidest idea since the tech nerfs.
Whats stopping a indie group of Rogues, Outcasts, going out in capital ships and just 2mordai'ing all the traders? As a pirate, battletransports gave a good challenge. Now...not so much. If I was still around, I would fly my LF around, 2mordai a trader, when they don't comply call in the metropolis and rape the living daylights out of the trader.
Kinda not fun for the trader. Traders are suposed to be a step up to get money to do other things.
Disco has officially become a class based society. The rich get richer and the poor don't get a fracking thing.
And at the topic of trolling the administration of this fine fine server. I ain't coming back, thats for sure. I just decided to see how much of a flame the topic would be. Worked gloriously, seeing as how admins bend the rules so they can keep someone out even when they do nothing bad, and even when they do the "perma" part of their ban doesn't stick (See Dubstep).
And even if dreamtheater doesn't actually want the capital ships, they should be in the current faction leaders hands, not Bastilles. Which would be Pyromaniac. (apparently)
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.
While admin/dev team is testing out various apocalyptic game modes, maybe we can get an open Nomad ID in the meantime, as well? With it's ZoI locked to Omicrons (afaik it's possible to change IDs without general mod updates?), and caps locked to systems without JGs?
(ye, I know that all those guys who would buy em, would have to sell/delete their ships after trial period will end, but still)
Actually, I wrote an ID for this, and it's in the game. Simply called the Nomad ID, it lets the wearer use all the Nomad snubs, and although it doesn't permit caps, it gives free engagement rights anywhere in the Omicrons.
It just hasn't been put up for sale on any public stations yet. Probably never will, either, as there was a lot of "NOOOOOOOO"-ing from certain parties.
Can't say I didn't try, though. No, don't ask if you can have it.
And now let's get back on topic. Which was <strike>Andrew whining about us being tired of his dicking around</strike> the rule change.
Also, on that note, be sure to see this thread for a related update to rule 5.6.

I'm glad for that change, now for removing CD's out of cruisers.
The problem with removing cruiser CD's, is how they behave in PvP.
Now if we can get some slow moving missiles that disrupt cruise and do damage for use in cap vs cap. That might alleviate the issue allowing for the removal of cruiser CDs
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.

Im not against a form of public id. i think however it exists already and should bee SEEN as what it is. The morph ID allows all that and more and more importantly doesent break the rp of the "caste" of nomad cause morphs are.. totally random.. they can be vary nomad like..
Or utterly retarded..
i dont like zoi's sirius is the nomad zoi so any public nomad id should reflect that. and the morph id does. (just remove the self defence part you got my support there)
p.s. doors open corey when you got the time of course it think youd have a blast in the tentacle club.

Battleships do fine without CD's, the worst thing that could happen is that cruisers would need a backup with CD's.
They would still work efficently against battleships (if there's a CD carrier with them).
If traders are being told that they need to hire scouts and escorts in order to trade, I don't see a problem in telling Cruiser users the same, that they need to have a CD backup in order to do a better job.
The slow missile/cd might work as well, but it seems to me it would need more testing and balancing than removing the CD's.

Cannot because they are the CD carrier and they are supposed to have CD in order to act as cruisers.
