Oh, also, sorry to nitpick/post a second time so soon, but CSV isn't "ineffective" for mining, provided you have a few tips on strafe and turret view. Thanks.
It's turret does not have the full forward arc - that makes it hard to mine with just the generic cockpit view mining. It's ineffective because it's difficult to use, especially for newer players (I wager veterans won't be referring to a guide).

I mean, ok, but I've started out scores of players mining scrap in a CSV ...
Now I'm so confused with Kruger bonus for COPPER (and for other ID's, btw).
1. Wiki said here: Kruger receives the best bonus for Cobalt Ore, Copper Ore and Silver Ore.
2. You said: Kruger Minerals: Specializes in Silver and Cobalt. No Copper mentioned.
3. You said: Deep Space Engineering: A Liberty company. Specializes in Silver, Copper and Platinum.
4. You said: Omega-7: They have cobalt, Copper and silver.
So, please clarify:
a) do I have to come to Omega-7 with DSE ID and IFF to mine Copper with ID bonus?
b) here else could I use DSE Copper bonus?
c) is there any ID bonus for Copper mining in Omega-7, except for DSE?
If you come to Omega 7 with DSE you are likely to be shot, if you want to mine Copper in Omega 7 either be IMG/Kruger or Daumann. Independent Miner ID also gives a bonus, but it is a reduced yield
Also the Prices for selling ore on the Wiki is not upto date. Copper now has the best selling price in Texas(10.5k per unit) and Cobalt and Silver sell for a similar price(around 7.8k per unit). If you choose Copper remember that if you are trying to take it to Texas through Rheinland there is an Embargo and you could be stopped and the Ore ceased by the Rheinland Military in Hamburg
Don't use that mining guide on the wiki for prices and bonuses, it's very out of date. For mining basics, mining ships, and mining locations...it is accurate.
But Aeternus Doleo is the reigning Mineral Lord, so those numbers are subject to change at His whim.
Answers:
a) The only places with Copper fields are Omega-7 and Munich, so you will have to go to one of those systems to mine copper no matter what ID you have.
b) Munich or Omega-7 only. Munich is lower yield.
c) Yes, Kruger, Daumann, IMG, and Independent Miner...see link above for specifics.
If you go to Omega-7 as DSE during non-peak times, you will be fine. There's some pirates, but that's the same for everyone.
' Wrote:I wander if Sirius technology can give detailed information about a mining field yield rate. For example- you get into a mining field and you get this message:"Sensors detect that the mining field yield is 82%.Estimated time to regain its full potential is 1 day and 15 min." And to get this message every 30 min while you are inside the field.
Good idea, but... Golden age of Sirius technology is still far from us. But, maybe this can help:
- shoot 10 stones and count your cargo. If satisfied with number - keep mining. If not - move 200-300m and try again. If it's not good for you again - leave and come tomorrow. Write down your figures, or remember it.
- estimated regain time could be calculated just for a case there are no miners in field. There is no known technology to predict number of miners that will come. Simply, if you see plenty of miners and no pirates - prepare to shoot a lot to earn something that day.

Ah, thank you very much. This link claryfies all about locations and Faction bonuses. I hope it will be part of a Mining Guide, version 3.0.

The Power of Cannon compels me just like anyone else, Battlesnax;)my vote isn't the final one. That said, I do have a hand in setting those numbers, and try to keep the Wiki updated on the minable commodities page, as well as the price listings here. That guide is indeed a tad outdated... I'll add rewriting it to my todo's.
Kruger, Daumann, IMG, DSE and Independent Miner all have copper bonuses. Be aware that DSE can be engaged by most Rheinland lawfuls - state of war and all that. Your best bet for pure copper mining would be a Daumann character - although you'd have to arrange a transport to ferry it to Liberty if taking it there.
