Okay, if you'd have sketches or any idea on how should those vessels look like - write to me, i'll make some models. If you need my junker gunboat/small transport model, I could give it to you as well.
I will be checking thread for updates. But note, it is highly probable that in 5-10th of July I will go on vacation. So I hope, it won't take much time for congress. Also my advice on it - lets use spare parts, like it is very well made with recycler.

The pirate train is a point of balance in the sense that junker IFF doesn't get pirated much, and giving junkers a supertrans that doesn't get pirated much will be very unbalanced. This really needs to be thought on. There would be very little reason to play any other merchant ID if junkers had a supertransport. What are you going to take away to keep it balanced?
The zoner gunboat is one of the weaker platforms out there so not much harm letting the junkers use it. In fact this is probably better than giving a dedicated gunboat.
Also the Salvager is a helluva defensive gunboat, its just not good for offense. Hull and bot count more than offset the lower shielding. Also has good firing arcs. What it is primarily lacking is faction turrets--basics get blown off long before the hull collapses--and that will be resolved with low-penalty access to zoner turrets. It also lacks a CD, which keeps it defensive, but given (1) oversized cargo hold and (2) junker IFF keeps it from pirated this is alright. Honestly the Salvager is probably one of the most OP ships in the game, since it rarely gets attacked and you need to use a capital ship to guarantee victory, and from that perspective giving it even zoner turrets will make it even more OP.
I completely support any and all snub line improvements. The existing models need to be balanced for defense at the least.

We'd like to be more puretech in the future. Seeing as it's in a Junker's nature to build their own equipment, wouldn't it make sense for them to build their own gunboat?
If we already have access to gunboats, why would Junkers flying one that they built themselves be overpowered/unfair? It makes more sense inRP (we won't have Kusari Explorer Junkers for one) and it won't adversely affect mod balance.

If the bulk of the problems with present tech are lack of guns/turrets (such as class 2 fighter turrets and gunboat turrets) maybe a short-term thing to do would be to get junker faction turrets. It would get done faster and make the existing ships more usable. Could make them defensive by giving a slightly lower range, making it easier to get away from them.

We want Junker ships, not Zoner vessels, to fight off attacks from Hogosha Black Dragons and Gunboats, along with Xeno eagles. And nothing is better at blowing up such small craft in an escort role than gunboats and gunships.
Please, please don't try and make the argument that fighters are, because every one of us that has tried using fighters to defend a transport has failed.

Do not want zoner tech. We want our own stuff as junkers make what they use from spare parts.

Junkers get pirated alot these days. Every dam "Pirate IDd" fool hits us claiming they have no friends. Xenos attack us on site. HF attack us on site. Kusari is full hostile still, even with new leadership. Gallia is also hostile to sirius junkers. So do some research before you claim what junkers need, and do not need please.

Zoner GB just does not fit the junkers. It looks to high-tech, and streamlined. Plus it is not a junker ship.

Guns are not really needed. We are fine with basic's, and we have our own snub guns that are not great, but still do the trick. What we lack is the ships to mount weapons on. All the snubs are under gunned to every other ship in game of equal class.
