Officially inRP, since always. Unofficially inRP, never. Within Bretonia, privateers have arrest warrants on their heads. Usually this means the BAF just ignores them though - the most common excuse being "my sensors are malfunctioning - they're reading a dangerous criminals who couldn't possibly be here."
This is of course subtle wording for "please bugger off before someone spots you and I have to do something about it." Generally they catch the drift and vanish, and generally everyone gets along well enough. The Bret player government disavows all knowledge of their doings, even if "rogue" elements of companies like Bowex and BMM aid and abet them.
Of course, Alvin's character was forced to dock on Southampton once, and promptly arrested, sentenced and condemned to death. Here's how it turned out. Bretonia is a slippery place. That said, it always makes me die a little on the inside when I see a QCP dock on a BAF battleship.
Hey Jammi, for a while wernt the Bretonian Privateers made lawful again?
Also to everyone going "oh it would cause international incidents," yes it DID. Back when Britain actually did use privateers the spanish were always complaining about them robbing their gold shipments.

1) Yes they were, then they weren't again. Politics, ey?
2) Ye, and it resulted in the Armada (which was destroyed by nature / fought off five times - the first one that was burned gets the publicity though). Besides, that's not exactly an appropriate comparison. That would be similar to Bretonia raiding Kusari shipments on their way to the Omicrons or Taus, where they were hoping to colonise new systems where Bretonia also had an interest.
With the fall of the TGCS31, Planet Harris and the McDuff are going to have to become the Privateers primary base of Operations. So you'd best stock up on Green +1 mushrooms Jammi

I hope you realize that Harris still has a Kusari Battleships around, one that will be bright red to you if you touch the Ronin.

Uhuh. The 23rd will be reporting wide-scale sensor anomalies to the Admiralty Board. Of course, in times of war, there isn't enough time to call in to Southampton for refits. I guess that means we'll just have to live with them, yes? ;)
Also, Zelot, that'll just be one of those things. QCP have BAF guard rep, so Harris and the MacDuff will remain a nice (sour) apple-green. If the Exiles don't like it, I guess they can complain to the Queen. Docking rings these days - letting all sorts of riff-raff through when no-one's monitoring them, ey?

Yes, but the KNF battleship will be bright red to you. Hard to hang out at a place that has a battleship, and huge masses of uncontrollable indies firing at you relentlessly.

I thought you were restricting access to your new faction to your Chosen Few only? :P
