Reading up on what's been happening and with my own experiences monkeying around with it, I don't particularly believe it to be an oversight, but an unfortunate side effect of how it's been implemented.
I would think that anyone else with any other ID trying to use SCRA tech would also have a 10% PC nerf, since SCRA is full redcell.
Therfore, SCRA using other tech is also full redcell ubernerf.
EDIT: I must admit I am supporting the SCRA on this one.
Battleships are for PvP.
That's why they are called...
battleships.

For your second point, yes fair enough and I will look into that, but it just seems wrong to have our Flagship, the Pride of the Coalition use an ID that isn't Coalition. It also doesn't seem necessary as we only have two Battleships. I just think that our ID should allow for an Osiris with Order Turrets.

Flagships don't necessarily need to be combat worthy, just stylish and imposing. It can be a symbol of your faction's pride and not a PvP juggernaut, right? Or does everything need a PvP value to be "good RP?"

The way I see it the whole problem with this new tech nerf system is that is has been implemented to punish those using tech not their own, rather than to balance out mismatched tech combinations.

Right.

It was always the intention to give *existing* special RP ships to get Special Operations IDs to allow them to avoid the tech nerf.

This applies to the 2 SCRA ships, the thunderbay and others.

This wasn't made clear in various threads due to general incompetence and because the admin team has been discussing the if we should re-open SRPs. We have not made a decision about this and this has resulted in confusion in our answers.

I am locking this thread so that this answer is not lost and because I believe it resolves the first question.
