I have to agree bout NPC issue, in my stinger i need 15-20 mins to complete mission for 30k, lot of time for small money i never understand why NPC`s got so hard to kill, hell for nomad BS u need 2 Cruisers and 10 mins to take him down, and Wild NPC are tougher then nomads...
I see your point Juan, as playing sometimes get you more nerfed then any RL issue, i know the feeling...
So i hope problems will resolve soon and Disco becomes more fun, wish you good luck in life Juan:)
I agree with you on the NPC issue, they are way too tough. Keep your chars active and come back as soon as the new mod is out. I really hope this gets listened to and dealt with 'cos it might start to cause a lot of people grief soon.
I didn't complain about this before, I just took it as a part of the game. but it bugs me anyway. But I can handle that, since I mostly stick to Liberty, Bretonia or the border worlds. And because I have developped a certain specialization in killing bounty hunter fighters in the past few years, often codenames as 'fishing'. I just went on, blasting the NPC's that I can. That is why you won't see me in Kusari space at all. Or just passing through. I don't understand the locals, and the I somehow don't like Kusari space itself. I'm not getting the warm feeling I'm used to in my favourite places, like Liberty.
Nevertheless, this topic leaves a question: is this supposed to be a game, or a simulation, to make things real? I vote for the game. We're supposed to have fun, not to have another annoying life behind the computer screen. The modders always do a lot of hard work, and it was worth it. But I bet they all know that it can never be perfect.
If you return some day, call me and I might whisper some of my tips and tricks to you. I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm quite capable of blasting the buzzing little LPI patriots, Xeno and Ageira starfliers and little fishy Piranhas...
The legionnaires are not a frequent target of mine, so probably I'm just not used to them ... they are a pain. Or they're uber pilots, decide yourself.
The freelancers are another case. I've never seen a human-controlled Stiletto to survive that kind of firepower VHF's or gunboats are throwing at it. I can't even fly it like that myself, even though I'd blast ehole packs of hammerheads with the stiletto's guns and a torpedo launcher.
Some things aren't shifted only from playful/playable to real, but they are way past it. That would be the main issue, in my opinion.
Hell considering that the NPCs have armor multipliers and a maximum shield capacity of OVER NINE THOUSAND....No seriously its over 14000, I think we need some downgrading on the NPCs.
While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack http://pastebin.com/SYQXBufs
Thats sad that you may leave, it seems as though a break is what you may need, after all nobody needs the extra pain.
Lane disrupt....lane disrupt........part of the game but it can drag.
I'm feeling you on this one, Cruise disruptors rarely seem to work, (had this discussion last night), torpedos are a joke and yeah Npc's are a little harder to kill.
Have you maybe considered trying to hook up with someone for a while as a wingman. Someone to help out with taking out targets, cover fire etc. Re-assigning the fire button also seems like a winner.
Surely theres some options......
Hey we all love freelancer and we love the players, hopefully theres a solution.
Don't leave the Community we need our Grammar Nazi!
I agree that NPCs are harder to hit but let me remind everyone that the server is running at a lower frequency than usual and has one faulty memory core which may cause some serious lag when fighting NPCs and Player.
EX: yesterday we were 6 on an eagle and none we're able to hit him, he was just zapping around.
PS: why are we using a Gaming computer to run the server instead of a server computer(which can support a lot of rams without trouble)?

Because you haven't bought a Server for us to use.

to subjugate the enemy's army without doing battle is the highest of excellence."

My problem isn't an itchy trigger finger, since I always fire my guns when I want. Unfortunately, my entire right hand can twitch, thereby moving the mouse itself and throwing off my aim as I pull the trigger (i.e. hit the left mouse button). Changing the trigger location to the keyboard wouldn't make any difference, as that's not the source of the problem. I could never be a surgeon, as my hands shake a little, almost imperceptibly, but just enough to throw off my aim every third or fourth shot. That also makes following a target difficult, as my mouse keeps moving in random directions every few seconds.
Ironically, I'm a relatively fast typist (55-72 wpm) with a very low error rate. I catch most of my typos as soon as I make them. When I was working as a typesetter in 1987-1988, I once typeset a 20 page document which had ONE error!:rtfm:
I wish that my control of a mouse was as good as my control of a keyboard.:(
