What's happening with the Omicroners?

ZTC was the Zoner Trade Consortium, which was gutted by the Corsairs, and became the paranoid, militaristic organisation known as The Omicroners.

The ZDF, or Zoner Defense Force was a project led by Mudd, which was apparently such a disaster, that whenever you mention remaking it in jest, anyone from back then within earshot will yell NO very loudly.

As for O74, it is the Zoner NPC factions Guard System, meaning one of the other official factions will have to take control of it.

Seeing as it houses research labs, and most importantly, a Shipyard for constructing warships, which the OSI have never had any use for (they dont even use gunboats) - the logical choice would be TAZ taking control.

As well, since TAZ and the Corsairs get along nicely, it should smooth out border relations between the Corsairs and the zoner populace at large.

Because thatnshipyard does make the Whales that all of OSI fly, so we have some form of claim to needing that.

Clearly whatever happens will be RPed publically.

The Omicroners faction has been disbanded.
Some players significantly involved in it have quit disco.

Personally, I did not make my choice yet.
I may start a new zoners faction to replace the Omicroners (which means new goals and new diplomacy).
My main constrain is that I am currently really busy in my real life and I am not sure to have time to build a new faction.
Therefore my decision will mostly depend of how many serious people I can gather to work with me on this faction.
Some omicroners and independent zoners already contacted me to show their interest about it (and I thank them for that)

The only clear thing is that if I am going to build this zoners faction it will be in omicron-74. So if OSI is having it (I heard OSI could claim the system) I won't start this new faction.

But more important, I think all players on disco should have fun. Seeing some of us leaving the community because they feel oppressed or hurt is clearly a failure of the community. I think we seriously need to think about it in order to prevent it happens again.

I won't join since I am already in TAZ, but you have my personal support.
Also, since OSI is a trade focused zoner faction, I don't see it fit for them to claim O74. This argument has nothing to do with me not wanting GRN in there.

They do a better job at not being shot at. I think they could actually succeed where the Omicroners didn't.

Disbanded completely. Even o-74 must be re-purchased.

Hey, at least I haven't offered to buy it (O-74) for the BHG|Core (yet) like I did the LAST time the Omicroners disbanded. What was it - they said they quit, found out we wanted to buy their system, and then decided that they hadn't quit after all - all in the span of about 6 hours?

Oh, and if it becomes available, yeah - we'd like to buy it... :)
