Cheapest excuse I ever heard.
Gallia is not in Sirius? How do they get to Sirius then? The Jumphole is a "super jumphole" or something?
I'm not saying relocating the four houses to Gallia, but Bretonia would have gone there. No matter if it had taken even longer before they finally settled down then. And "less number of habitable planets"? Doesn't look like "less habitable planets" to me. Rheinland has less habitable planets then Gallia by far...

I'm still mad about whoever founded religions with only one god, does that count? 8|

Religion is really the only thing that can keep one group of people angry at another for an extended period of time. And I'm pretty sure Gallia isn't a religion...

Or maybe it is... which would explain sooooo much...

I don't question the Gallic motivations, I just question their effects all things taken into consideration. There is a difference between hatred and the threat of extinction, which has happened to Sirius on several occations - also the constant skirmishes between houses would incur a greater real (and not just on an ideal level) will to sacrifice in the population.

Your arguments are basicly: 1) Junkers brought the tech that was refined. First off, if Junkers can just go ahead and do that, howcome say Liberty didn't get a set of Krakens and refined them to the extreme? You can use this argument on all tech and all houses/factions and it is thus in effect moot. Secondarily, if we ignore what I just said and presume tech can be spread by junkers and adopted just like that, howcome Gallia is able to refine tech to more extreme levels than other houses/factions? Lore or not, the argument doesn't stick at all - it leads me to conclude that either A) Gallia is governed/influenced Daam K'Vosh to explain for the quantum-leap in tech and this will be revealed to us in the future or B) It is done this way simply as a mechanical way to attract more players to Gallia.

2) Gallics were just so angry and fuelled by the wish to get even that they could develop/produce on a scale unseen in the rest of Sirius. Outcasts dislike Corsairs quite a bit, howcome their anger couldn't invent übertech (alright it is fairly uber), Corsairs also hate the Outcasts - why is their tech not superior? This can be used for a long line of factions/houses, and thus makes no sense at all.

Can we really believe that an entire populace can stay mad and bent on revenge for eight hundred years?

No. It's illogical. That would be like assuming Canada and the US are still mad at each other over the war of 1812.

It would be like saying France is still angry at Britain for capturing their North American colonies.

It would be like saying most of Europe still hates Italy because the Roman Empire conquered all of it.

It would be like saying... you get the point.

It's just illogical. There are always more pressing current concerns for people to get angry over rather than continually being angry and plotting revenge over something that happened hundreds of years in the past.
^also a very good one.^

+ another anti-"we had junker help" argument

there are MANY MANY research/explore/whatever vessels out there, everywhere. looking for new places 24/7 - AND THEY DONT FIND A JUMPHOLE TO GALLIA IN ALL THAT HUNDRETS OF YEARS?! (HELL! junkers found it... so it is impossibru it was hidden that well)

to sum it up on a more serious level.

Gallia RP is - in my opinion - not detailed enough etc. about how they did and how it was able to keep it secret.

in all the time anything would've happend that it becomes public - who they are, and whats their plans.

-you cant keep (even a small part of the junkers) silent for soo long
-you cant hide a way to gallia (which junkers had to use to go there) for hundrets of years with thaaat many curious individuals exploring space outta there.
-and many more.

and thats why I dont like gallia - it's bad RP (thús my first command "cuz its oorp") - in my opinion

with all your arguments you cant change it banes. and the major part of the persons I interact here and there agree with me.

and keep your "lack of knowledge" for you, aye?

I've read so much stuff about gallia because I was playing it for a little while.
But it wasnt fun for more than a few weeks.

While I don't play Discovery any longer, I find this thread interesting to read and laugh about. Gallia, or Discovery, itself is like... "the brain child" of Igiss. No matter what the community discuss, or what the community hate of this and that - the mod would not reverse or change. Unless Igiss comes up with a weird lore that the jump-hole had collapse after several Royal Capital ships entered the inner of the Sirius Sector (Universe). That's the only thing I can think off if I would have to remove Gallia from the server; got other crazy lore i can think off to remove it if I were the 'owner' of the mod.

Personally, if the community don't like the system - don't enter, simple enough. Gallia region is technically a suicide house space if you don't have the proper reputations and yet huge space systems. When I first read about Igiss putting up a new house space - my very first reaction was a "WTF?" face. With over 135 systems, I think it was (correct me if I am wrong), and the limited of players in the server - "...another house is going to be added? Really?" I mean, don't get me wrong, I was a bit "excited" to see how it is but after several deaths from NPC's <strike>admins</strike>, I hated it every single second of it if I entered the system.

I won't even comment about the Lore, as it is confusing to fit it with the Freelancer Vanilla Lore as one.

Developing Work was a work horse in the Gallia region yes, but it is because the dev's wanted to create a fully functional house space like the other four in Sirius. Very little was done is Sirius inner worlds, but throwing stones on this is not worth it as the dev's wasted their good time on the Gallia House. It is cool to see, nice ships, commodities, but it's becoming worthless everytime a topic stands up about Gallia this and that.

I think it's a shame. =/

This thread was to make people to stop complaining about things and just play the game. But people prefer to stay biased as usual... By hating the creations, you are insulting people who worked for it. There's really one question I need you people to ask to yourselves " What I have done back to this community?" . Simply said many will not have an fair answer. While devs and admin toiled hard for 2 years to make this mod many people stood behind whining for the delay. Now when the mod is out..... I know there are people who appreciate work.. But hating without even trying and giving other players playing there a bad time?

Really disappointing... I will notify a mod to close this thread. Just one last word, I am sorry to everyone whom feelings I may have hurt. I really did not intend to....

Gallia can be really fun to play... If people try to treat it fair...

Dislike the lore.
Dislike the factions.
Dislike the lack of people.
Dislike the majority of the people there.
Dislike the hugeness.

Like the new station models.
