Im Isra 37 years old and i play now 3 year Freelancer and here on the forum i have now 2 year my account
Im Moderator on a Communitysite NETLOG in Belgium, atleast 5 year i do that job.
Its one of the biggest communitysites in the world, there are millions people with a account http://nl.netlog.com/
I help people in the game, and its gives me a good feeling!!
And im neutral for everyone.
No Matter How Good You Are, Don't Ever Let Them See You Comming
I'd be glad to help out.
I spend much time on the forum as it is,
and I was planning for a longer time to do something back for the community.
Why people should support my application?
I guess I am quite the levelled person who can have an own opinion ,
but I am always interested to hear both sides of the story.
If there is a conflict I am always trying to talk it out,
I am trustworthy and strife for making and keeping this place enjoyable for everyone.
I've been a pretty active member of the community for quite a long time now and have learned some ins and outs of the community. I am typically level headed and to my knowledge I've never spoken in anger to anyone on the forums and I try to keep an open mind about a lot of things.
I have also been a moderator in another MMO forum for about a year I think it was before I stepped down, and I'm currently an admin for a Steam group and the said group's server moderator. So I'm rather used to being a moderator of sorts.
I do like to help people out, and if I can help this community that has given me both joy and... strange memories (thank you Jamie) then I'd be quite happy.
I'm an active member of the community for quite some time and I grew to love the place. I'd like to assist the rest of the forum mods and administrators in keeping the forum clean.
I've had some experience of forum moderating in a private forum for another game community which shutted down a year ago.
I'd like to take a shot at biting the bullet here.
Although I'm far from the most liked person in the community, and I'm certainly not the most approachable, I've been here for a very long time. I've made some bad choices, ticked off the wrong people, got a slap on the wrist (Hell, I've been banned twice), but I've also served my time and I'd hope that I'm a little more... refined because of it.
I'm sixteen, I like to think I'm somewhat mature for my age (but don't quote me on that!).
I've seen some great guys come and go, I've seen the golden side of this community and the dank underbelly as well.
At the end of the day, I might be cynical and prickly, but I still want to see the community live and evolve over the years to come.
Six more years of Discovery is six more years of Kangaraptor, whether you like it or not!
Addendum: One thing I didn't mention, and I probably should have, is that I also believe I'm capable of being level-headed and objective when necessary. I try not to put one person before another until I know all sides of a story, and I've been told by some that I have a... keen sense of justice, if that counts for anything.
well figure I should throw my name in the pot as well.
I am on pretty much everyday and have access to a computer for about 80% of the day so im usually on forums quite a bit and I know my way around pretty good I would like to think.
ive had some in-game history with the admins getting in trouble with the nomad stuff but I have never gotten in trouble and only one of my posts has ever been removed by a mod whom I acknowledged my error to when he told me what was wrong with it.
Ive done my best to help out where I could granted that doesnt mean you will see my name in every other post in the help channel.
O ya and ive been a member ov discovery for a little over a year now.
Well, I sent a PM to you, Cannon, few months ago, guess you didn't see it. Anyways, I'd like to fill one of the spots in moderation team.
I am an active forum member since my join date. Didn't take me long to figure out how everything works.
First of all, I can devote pretty much of my free time for forum moderation. I still go to high school so it shouldn't be a big deal. I check forums every half an hour or so anyways. So, I would be pretty much active.
I admit that I have zero knowledge about moderating, but I am always willing to learn. I also never got forum sanctioned.
I don't really rage or anything so that won't be a problem either. Even if I do, I chill out and do something else.
My name is Stefan by the way, in case you didn't know. I come from Serbia, not so popular place.
I'm also pretty much neutral so don't expect bias or anything like that from me.
This is the best gaming community I've been in for my years of gaming, and I'd like to stick around and help out as much as I can, and I cannot do much as a normal forum member, as much as I'd like to.
Well, to introduce myself first, my name is Dominik, 24, from Germany and i'm on the server for nearly 2 1/2 years now i guess.
Why i think i could be a good moderator? well, first of all, i read the forums many times a day to keep me up to date. The next thing: i always got an open ear for the players, doesn't matter if it's disco veterans or new guys, and i'm free of any prejudices.
I guess i got far enough time to spare for the forum work, but i must say i only got small experience in forum work (The only thing i do is running the Steelworkers - SW) forum and keeping some topics of the ex-[Convoy] forum running) I don't know if yah wanna count that in :D.
Anyways, i guess i'm always able to talk to players in a nice way, so i guess i could do this job here.
And just to mention: i've never ever been sanctioned here:P
Hello, my name is Anne. I am 22 years old, located in the eastern USA, and I would like to help disco by being a member of the moderation team.
Pros:
Unbiased.
In my time, I have learned how to treat everyone and everything on an individual basis. This partly comes from my line of working the credit card industry where we deal with things on a case by case basis. However, most of determining how to do this was actually fostered in my as I learned how to RP and how to avoid meta-gaming on disco.
I have learned how to differentiate personal emotions from a professional environment and treat everyone the same without my preconceived notions becoming involved.
Professional.
I take my jobs seriously. This partly ties into the non-biased description above, this this is more of motivation to me then a tool I can use. If I am given a job to do, I do all that I can within my power to see that it is finished int he best way possible. This is a matter of principle for me, and I am very proud of my ability to focus in on work an get stuff done.
Caring.
I feel that one of my biggest strengths is that I care about things. Genuinely, heartrendingly care. The biggest concern of mine are the people around me. I always stop to think about the way others around me feel. One of the most common questions I ask myself here on disco is "Is everyone having fun? Am I giving people a good time?" The answers very and are not always clear, but the fact remains that I always try to put the best foot forward in these situations and maximize the benefit of all.
I also care about this community as a whole and want to see it thrive. If I were to assume the job of moderator, I can see that as my motivation behind my actions, activity, and work ethic.
Cons:
Impulsive.
I have problems with being impulsive. Somethings this is a good thing, such as winging things, spontaneity, creativity. It adds a lot to life to be able to fling yourself any way at a moment's notice. It, however, also means I have trouble thinking things through. Sometimes, I get lost in the moment and do not look for the potential consequences of my actions.
This is something I have been working on for the past year, but it always seems to crop up time and time again. Hopefully I will be able to reign it in over time, but until then, it remains a problem.
The time I can put forth into disco will be varies based on my work scheduled, but I should have enough to dedicate at-least two to three hours on workdays, and five to six hours on days off.
I've been here for (goes check profile) more than 3 years, I could list pros and cons, but I think I have made myself known around here, both for good things and bad things, at least for those who know me. For those who don't... well, what difference would it really make? After all, if you don't know me, I could be simply lying.
