Hmm so you have no problem when:
1) Mollies allied with BAF against Corsairs = unlawfuls with lawfuls
2) KNF allied with indians, pirates, mollies, corsairs against BAF = party
3) BAF allied with SCRA against GRN = unlawfuls with lawfuls
4) CR allied with BAF against GRN = semi friendly party
5) SCRA allied with BAF agianst corsairs = "enemy of my e..."
A lot examples can be given but still you cant consider the above statements as metagaming because all was done in RP. A lot of reasons could bring the same actions that happened in cambridge early:
1. Hessians are sworn enemies to corsairs and will always engage them. A corsair base? They would definitely attack it no matter who else is there already.
2. Bretonians were already there for 3 hours sieging that base with 9 battleships and a lot more ships. Bretonians would never tolerate a corsair base in their space (like bretonian base in omega-5 or Gamma)
In Bretonia we dont treat hessians as KOS targets like corsairs and considering they are fighting our south enemies (the corsairs) why would we fight them in such important situation? The destruction of the corsair base was in RP priority. The hessians arrived and RP was done. Enemy of my enemy is my friend.
As much as possible the RP was kept in the group chat, you can ask other people there about how many times was mentioned (>>>>>RP pls).
But be offended of the fact your two sworn enemies HELPED each other to wipe your house is not metagaming no matter what the ID may say. Alliance between hessians and bretonians? Definitely not...

They were probably chasing the corsair swarms incoming from omega-5 up to cambridge. After they found the base, they decided to eliminate the corsairs and ther base then to leave. Ofcourse nobody would let hessian capital squadron to enter bretonia in normal sircumstances but in this situation with the RP of "enemy of my.." I dont see a problem. Not to mention none of the bretonians can order to hessians what to do. If they want to kill corsairs they will do it no matter if we ask them to leave ten times. Then what? Saris vs BAF vs RH, trio? I think both of these factions have one real enemy...

I see a couple of problems here, though.
I recall Bretonia has clear laws concerning foreign capital warships, also, I would call them stupid or at least short sighted for letting a foreign fleet enter core space, even in such a ''special'' situation.
Nevertheless, I think the Hessian ID doesn't even allow them to attack Corsairs in cambridge, but I am not sure with this one.
All in all, my opinion should be clear - That was stupid. Can't kill the base without a little (or more) metagaming ? Well deal with it.
Restrict bases all to admin approved only, or moderator approved only... Would solve it for the time being.... get RP out before building a base, keep RP'ing procurement of goods... get some real stuff done on the free market...

However the introduction of suck powerful tools have also brought with them dreadful amounts of metagaming.
I have seen BAF and Hessians teaming up against Corsairs, we all saw that.
I have seen pirates using cloaked transports with different IDs to follow traders to their bases, then go back with their pirate characters to trash it.
I have seen indie Liberty Navy ships stock up on Nomad supplies in the Omicrons and hand over the supplies to a pirate base to make cloaking devices.
I have seen independent players paying people at Krupp to make cloaking devices for them.
I have seen a traders with IDs that have nothing to do with a base bringing supplies to a base.
I have seen a lot more things that could get people sanctioned for metagaming information but I am not posting them here because I figure we can figure this out without going that far just yet.
But how far can this stuff go?
I don't really see the problem to be honest. Well, I do see some of it, but its not as big as you're making it it appear.
The 'temporary allied' issue is something that has happened plenty of times, plenty of people complained, yet nothing from the Administration Bureau on the matter. If they actually did address this issue, point me to the thread.
If not, I guess is OKAY. Call it 'war dynamics', or whatever. CR allied with the Outcasts against the GRN, whooped their asses, and then proceeded to murder anything that was left of each other 5 seconds after the last GRN dropped. All sides knew this would happen. And it did.
Pirates tracking ships to their POS', again, more freedom in this game. More dynamics. You don't like freedom? Ask Cannon for a scanner command with a 5 minute cooldown. Shows any cloaked ship in a 14k range on your ship for 10 seconds. Have fun being paranoid.
Navy ships trading with Pirate bases. Some Navy characters have very deep connections with the unlawful world. It's called roleplay. Or virtual reality.
Same thing regarding the indie players. Guess what, few people are here to play the average NPC patrol pilot role.
Traders supplying POS while having a random ID brings you to the previous point. Maybe they're getting something in return.
