I found it odd that BAF let RH come in with battleships. They weren't really needed, and it has the potential to cause diplomatic problems with Rheinland.
Of course, RH shouldn't even battleships.
And you start looking at things like RH is aligning with pirate groups to protect a relationship with king-capitalism IC, and telling the pirates to eat whatever small worker they want.
Really this is just par for the course here. The server is all about scratching whatever itch is here now.
BAF teaming up with Hessians violates the Hessian ID (may only team up with Rheinland lawfuls against invasions of Rheinland). So, I posted a report on the guys that I could get screens of (about 7 Hessian caps - there were more there though). That's something for the admins to sort out now.
Lib Navy transferring Nomad tech to pirates -> 6.9 violation. Screen and file a report.
Krupp manufacuring on a commission -> Really something for the base owners to sort out. If the RM doesn't want that to happen, they should simply put a stop to it.
Traders bringing supplies to an unusual base -> Difficult to control at present, as playerbases do not flash an IFF.
Cloaked transports being used to spot bases - yea, a potential issue. But not much anyone can do about that one. Expect your base to be discovered eventually. Plan defenses accordingly. The defense platforms will be beefed significantly in update 5, and there are additional types of defense platforms planned.
Also: When planning to build a base, keep in mind that capital vessels, especially the heavy ones, have a really hard time in asteroid fields. Plop a base down in a dense asteroid field if you are worried about Valors/Legates/Jorgamunds/Warturtles/Ranseurs and especially Kusari Dreads beating on your door. Bases do not suffer from radiation damage. A high-damage radiation field would also keep snubs at bay. Be smart as a ruffian. The law has bigger guns then you do. Usually anyway.
[/hint for the rogues to plop a base somewhere in the Negra fields of texas]

Neither should Corsairs. Or Outcasts. Or Zoners. Or IMG. Or Blood Dragons. Or most of the factions that have battleships. Oh wait, this isn't vanilla any more, and battleships actually contribute to balance.
Read up on lore of a faction that is meant to be the 3rd largest unlawful faction in Sirius, with raw materials to support itself to boot. "Hessians shouldn't have BS" is a fine new cry for all the RNC that enjoyed camping Freital before Hessian BS, but now find themselves on equal grounds.

On the subject of the thread itself: It's just escalation of what started the moment the bases were released. It's total chaos, anarchy and survival of the fittest. In relation to bases: Fair play is gone. Fair play concealed by RP is gone.
It sucks, yes. But this is like the game theory problem "tragedy of the commons". Everyone has the means to stop what they are doing. Nobody will because they cannot be sure the other side will also, and they don't want to be left disadvantaged by being the only side playing fair. The admins have already stated multiple times that they will not get involved in base placement decisions, nor will they restrict base placement in any way.
This means that this thing is only going to escalate further. I suggest we just accept it, or try to resolve it among ourselves.
But really, what's the point of this bickering at each other. I think it's a game, and meant to be fun, and krupp can't really be destroyed anyway now, so why not spice it a bit up? I never camped it, however, but had a fun fight today near it with your cloacking flagship.
Point is - fun is to be had, as long as it makes sense in rp. If some sort of camping goes towards grudges, that's bad and we could try to work on it, but really, when the game revolves around player bases now, it is logical that people will concentrate on them.
This can be fun, and cambridge today sure was fun. Made me feel like it's EVE but with RP.
