If you increase the defence on docking rings and stations, wouldn't that mean there would be more camping around bases?
If you make capital ships stay inside Guard systems, then the point of the capital ships are? Or more importantly, who will even bother to use one? If no one even bothers about 'invading' guard systems in the first place.
I have a better idea, Let's take Discovery mod, remove everything in Discovery mod, and let's play the original Freelancer, online.
I don't think Igiss even plays Disco anymore or really has anything to do with dev/admin work.
Either that, or he's got an alt, which, considering the number of times a man who runs/ran a RP server has posted in roleplay threads, is where I'd put my money.

What do you mean? If bases wil have more strong guns so camping them would be harder for enemies. with docking protection gone you will see that no enemies right in front of base would be better. so no instakill
no, I mean make capships buy-only in guard systems. you can use them whenever you like, just you cant just make Turtle as now without guard even, or Legate, or any other capship. GBs are freely available for non-guard.
