While playing this game and mod as well I started to think ''why?''. about mod actually. ships, bases, systems and so on. I have now my Disco in mind. Im posting it just to share my thoughts, but if some of my ideas will go to life that would be awasome. but again: just sharing ideas. feel free comment, add your own ideas about it and asking questions. I cant remember all so I will update 1st post from time to time when I remember others. So - lets start.
If I were Igiss I would:
-Not create more new ships but buffed old. So no Phantom/Chimaera but strong Banshee and Dragon
-made all NPCs in houses had 5-6 class weapons, border worlds 7-8, edge worlds 8-9.
-increased size of Cruisers and bigger. made em more strong. more different weapons, equipment and shields. no CDs on on Cruisers/Dessies/Carriers.
-made bombers less effective agiainst snubs but abit more VS caps.
-making house/border worlds systems size larger, guard systems smaller. more life to populated systems. making Omcrons less charted. not making systems like Oita, Elesmere, Pool, Quebec... so around 100-120 systems
-making HFs able to use CD/Torp. LFs smaller and weaker but with 420 cr.sp. VHF as they now.
-stick faction closer to its tech. no Military IDed Eagle for example. still able to use allied tech but not too much.
-no cloaks/drived for everyone. only to official factions and approved indies and only within RP and ballance.
-2 types of player bases: 1st type as they now (able to be stronghold and homebase) 2nd small and cheap (as outpost for repairs and cargo hold. easy to kill and built new)
-making less number of codenames, make them more different (from 1.0 refire to 5.88, from 600 to750 speed, pulce-typed) new textures and sounds for them , placing wrecks in good guarded zones.
-removing capspam. capships would be only in guard systems, weapons only with full rep, increased price. also removing capships from lolwuts and rule-breakers (only if really needed)
-removing Ore. making mining not the only one source of cash. increasing prices for most of commodities, especially on contraband. most of bases need food more then Ore you know...
-increasing defence on bases/planets. no camping docking ring
-removing quick-dock. its stupid that big ship suddenly disappears. and no docking protection. ship can die while docking. but with strong defence on base its not so big problem, enemy cant pew you and survive easy
-making piracy in systems with high activity of pirates not so hard as now. most of TL will be longer.
-changing scanners. most of ships would have own. liners/transports scanners cant see pirate in 15k but in 10 and can pick him on ship-list in 7k. Fighters/bombers/freighters would have same as now. GBs can pick target on 12k and see it untill 17k. BS scanner can pick target on 15k and see untill 20k.
And this is why, sir, you are not on the dev team. I think.
