No, it does not.
The nomad incubi IS connected to the mindshare, that means to other nomads because it is a nomad. Only the connection with the host is making them a little bit different what can be seen in most cases in the behavior as more aggressive.
And yes Alley, I understand that there is a desire of a change. We are just stating our opinions here and of course it is just up to you whether to discuss it with us, talk with us, work with us for the sake of making the nomad world even nicer, or take it as an attack on your idea and your person ( What I hope is not the case)
Well the reasons why I asked the question with the open faction were several.
You say people on morphs and non K'Hara IDs can "jump in" if they like.
So I'll ask more directly what I was wondering about...
Are nomad rebels going to be shooting other nomads? If yes then I see a bit of a problem.
Another question I'd like to ask, which I could not find answered in the first posts is:
Why exactly are Harbinger and Aurora in conflict? Why did Harbinger not wake up Aurora on purpose?
And... why exactly does Aurora like humans so much, even up to the point of starting a rebelion against her own kind?
About the other points you raised, about difficult communication:
I am also often annoyed by people just putting stuff in * and " like ***"I" say "hi"*** and think its its great nomad RP.
But there are other possibilities, which I have seen from other nomads (some of them on other servers). Like they project images like *the image of a dark figure with glowing green eyes appears in you mind* (I think that was fellow hoodlum RPing, not sure tho). Another time I saw the nomad repeating things he had heard from humans, like an audio playback. For example "John's voice: Destroy them all!". And you can always talk as an infected human. Apart from that, I see no reason why nomads cant emulate human voices in their super-advanced ships (after all, every single player's ship talks to him in Freelancer). And you can interact in a non-pew-pew way with humans. It's been done before. I don't really see the need for this "rebelion" for that.
I came late to the game from years back but I have to comment on this...
First, I do understand Nomad players wanting some room to branch out. I think a big part of that "boredom" comes from the rigid, "talk with asterisks" and "make many empty sayings" stereotypes that everyone conformed their RP too. Basically, playing a Nomad was like playing someone on sleeping pills who had a gun and might have a bad trip. Not a lot of fun.
I am not a fan of turning the Nomads into "philosoraptors" either. If they go the way of "Hey, let's all talk and be friends!" they will no longer need weapons because I'll pull a John Cavil and end myself with my own gun.
Nomads go from drug-addled to "little children"...yuck. Less fun.
The disappointing thing to me is that the original game's concept of Nomad social infiltration, secret allies and their keen minds and power were never really explored in Disco. There are no traitors, no governments taken over, no interactions with human spies--it was all pretty much the "we're here to emote and we'll take over Sirius later unless we just start randomly doing the drugs $ shooting thing" again. I know "great plans" were hinted at but they never really happened.
So we go from evil monsters with whome physical contact can end your life and who theaten Sirius with awesome power to another group of misfits who want to "hang out".
I've had to grit my teeth with Liberty players who RP their romantic relationship with one another and now I may have to grit my teeth with Pikachu Nomads.
The problem with the verbose Nomads is most of the talking has no real substance--it doesn't produce action for anyone but the two or three characters locked in the conversation. The NOMADS unlike the Cylons "don't have a plan"--maybe some individual nomads do but not THE Nomads--not anything I see translating into RP that draws me in. I don't want a Nomad for a friend or a pet. They are a threat or a market commodity to my character.
So if Nomads develop an RP that turns them into just another element of the police or navy--not really adding much there. Just another allied faction. We could just as easily have Gallia decide to invest in Sirius, declare universal peace and "help us all".
The key element of Nomads is they are ALIEN. If they become human I will personally lead the rise of the apes from Primus in game.
I know this isn't fair--I watched one long human--nommie interaction in Liberty and I am sure you have a lot of things that you are doing that may be interesting.
All that said, take this opportunity to let the Wilde break free from the Nomads and be the fallen angels they should be--cast down from heaven, bringing temptation and full of wrath with evil ambition. Them's some peeps I can luv on.
Thanks for the listen and chance for feedback, pardon my angst.
updates to the lore have been posted. I warn you it will continue to change. Yuri Literally saw how things were strangling themselves in the old faction, These changes and differences we are seeing now were to literally address the fact keepers becoming flat antagonists were not as fun as say a more complicated ones.
Development wise we've been screwed with and left out of the loop for many months.. though not lore wise thanks to friday whom we all love and adore.
There have been noted and wonderful stories in keeper lore from distinguished members of the time Wonderful works of lore wonderful writing. But as time goes on you must realize this server... Has a LIMIT To what you can do and it causes us to embrace the necessities of change.
Nerfy fighters, no cloaks, jumps of our own making this and tit for tat have already been talked about in other threads... It is difficult to uphold the scary nomad image, its difficult to do the job without the tools and thus we now have small pockets of human allies. This shouldn't confuse anyone.
Whether its people not liking the faction in general because we blew them up in space (which is the ultimate stupid reason the nerf the badguy i mean whats the god damn point in even playing them? Oh we blew up your trader and your escorts ran? were scary nomads im sorry its our rp is that not enough? did you loose a few mills in your hold? you know you are playing a GAME RIGHT? RIGHT? YOU REALIZE SOME POOR MF'er LOST THOUSANDS OF REAL CASH IN "VIRTUAL GOODS" in EVE ONLINE FROM GETTING SNIPEGANKED DID YOU LOOSE ANYTHING? BUT THE DENT IN YOUR PRIDE? whoa.. ..i need an asprin.)
In short for the lore side I provided to fill in the holes on a few things. incubi for one. incubi can spawn other incubi now. This thing is a symbiotic relationship between nom and its host cannot be 90/10 forever. Over time the Wilde have integrated into "the family" have their own operational goals and support the hive but these implanted humans from Rhineland care and work within thier former home. They have their own reasons and thier own motivations because the initial reason they exist for ended when the first war ended. They didnt decide to up and die or quit living because things didnt turn out right.
The basic provisons are, they do not hurt the hive they are adjutant to it and assist it like you would assist and exstended part of yourself, even if that exstended part is foreign and has another perpose, the goal of the one is the goal of the all.
The rebellion is only possible because of the momentary collapse of the share, incubi have thier human hosts to sustain them and while disorienting as it was they werent at the complete will the other parts of the hive were. Something strange happened in that short time. Something Harbinger Node only seems to know as when the share returned things were different. Sure the light was still present but you had to look a little harder for information, ideas, concepts. inturn nomad nodes started to form thier own banks of those things and share them in a more localised setting AKA mirrorshare. This permitted nodes to keep secrets and have dreams.
It also released TOO EARLY advanced emotional concepts not completely ready to be awakened within the hive.. and even an ancient concept for transcending the whole share concept too early. The more aware and empathetic node Aurora was what nomads should become when they were more independent... IE several centuries from now (keep in mind the nomads were already awakened early in the story by humans this continues the theme).
The transcendent (destiny) node though is so advanced that the concept are completely lost and incompatable. The share is too primitive for it all it can do is observe and hope things mature quicker. Whitch aurora seems to be doing.
Notice the rebellion faction isnt giving up all the nomad secrets. its still part of the hive its still must support its own it just is out of place with the "old plan" to subjugate the hives threats utterly and completely.
In reality harbinger representing the old way of doing things is an elder node, it cant force but it can convince. Its managed to infect gallias Navy and possibly more... IE the old plan/
Most of the in game threats we encounter would have Hive nodes and rebellion nodes protecting against the same things. Invaders in iota? its a shared threat to everything. Shared threats cannot be ignored but HOW TO DEALW ITH THEM is the corner stone to what this rebellion represents.
Aurora has created a small but influential following in the humans.. This has made these humans NOT a threat tot he hive... something harbinger couldent do.. this attacks harbingers authority and its methods and while grave to the old fuddy duddy.. the hive cant ignore that. These are new tactics new ways of doing things.. and it IS a civil war.. but not one of shooting. its of ideas.
So yes I can see where a majority of the old players are confused by the concept. and yeas confused by the idea of letting the faction "tear" itself apart. when it isnt.. This is not even close to a heated discussion at the dinner table. but it is a war of sorts.
So i hope this helped clear up things. As for the KNF. last i checked yalls were infected too. any knf shooting a nommy is just the normal HUMAN MONKEY SCARED SHOOT BLUE THING stuff thats always happened. that shouldn't have any bearing what so ever. its nothing new.

Excuse me but what? I've flown around ingame with nomads quite a few times. In fact I've even encountered you specifically.
Not to mention helping destroy that base in Zeta.
Also, not involved in any roleplay with the nomads? How can we be involved in roleplay we're not even privy to the knowledge of until after the fact?
