This is exactly the thinking that makes them flee...
"Whatever situation calls for" 2 Fighters obviously call for a Destroyer and 2 GBs.
Maybe you meant: "Whatever the situations calls for, so that they cannot kill us"
Sorry but some funny BHG just tried to collect a bounty on my fighter... in a BHG Battlecruiser :)
I've got a Hunter (tagged and ID'd) character myself and he won't be assisting anyone unless there's money in it for me.
The fact that the Bounty Hunters have a guild does not mean that I am under any obligation to help other guild members out. As far as I'm concerned they are my competition, as they'll be going for the same contracts as me. I might team up with them if I'm takling a particularly thorny contract, but that's it. My membership of the guild allows me to legally take bounty contracts.
As RParade said, we're not the military. We're also not a police force. Unless we're hired to be such. We're all self-employed businessmen and women.
?????? DW had one fighter, that was me, after fighting a target who was in a gunship for sometime, DW-Bam_Bam arrived in a bomber, DW-Revenge in a BS and DW-Sharpe in a bomber. The target in a gunship went into cruise when almost dead, and we let him fly off.:)

What're you talking about? You guys sodomized me in California with the same fleet I listed above, and the Gunship was not dying (I was in a Sabre, no way I could've even scratched it). Granted, a few of them were independents, most weren't.
.. You guys do this stuff so often that you don't even know what's going on, that's funny.

I gotta say thats odd. Personally I started out in a fighter, I've been on disco since October I think and I still haven't even got anything as big as a gunboat. I guess flying a big ship doesn't appeal to me and god knows I've suffered for it.
My personal feelings on the matter is that there are far too many independent cap ships around and it just dosn't make any sense, no military would EVER sell some random rich dude a freaking battleship.
ahh different incident.....! Hard to know who is who with different names on forum to the names in game. The one I was thinking about was a fight with LH.Moriarty. But in your case, the fact remains there were still me, in fighter, with 3 other DWs arriving on the scene. good fight btw ))

OK, haven't read everything but I agree that the independents in capitals ships need to be dealt with, I see no problems with independents in fighter, bomber, and sometime GB. But everywhere I try to Pirate I Must flee because of a BHG armada coming at me.
----------------------------------
NY is OVERPOPULATED by independents caps...
Merc ban isn't making a big difference since they are no bigger than GBs.
----------------------------------
Some people love the BHG ID because it is the only one granting you the ability to go ''everywhere'' in sirius with a big ship... cuz' Merc, Generic military and generic pirates cannot anymore.
----------------------------------------------
But the Ind. BHG are not only the problem, as some stated ind. lawful ( there is more unoficial lawful factions than the official factions ).
EDIT: BTW DW are an official faction, USS, ICO, TT, Tr|ad, etc, etc, etc aren't
I agree, it's kinda ridiculous that every random player can get a capital and just fly around like in fighter.
Imo there should be made some kind of restrictions in this matter to own and fly caps. eg every offcial faction gets permision to buy lets say 2 or max 3 caps and thats all.
Do you imagine a scince-fiction movie where the main character buy a Battleship and fly it only by himself. Well maybe yes but it would be rather a comedy.
