Um....no....
Because accidental EMP rendering is easily removable via replacement parts.
The best idea I can think of is how the Kamikaze's development led to the new missiles that will be implemented and the concept of the Kamikaze being scrapped due to safety concerns.
This is not a "should we do this, should we not do this" topic. This has already been decided and implemented, this thread is informative only. Please discontinue or move the discussion elsewhere. Missile tracking -should- be improved with improvements to mitigate server load being implemented. High server load is what causes tracking to fail, since all guided projectiles are handled serverside.
As for that Kamikaze char: Just switch to a Startracker with just a missile or something. Just as psychotic.
Update: Still working on the universe and base (exterior) infocards. Progress is slow but steady. With the galaxy map now likely being in it's final config, I'm posting it here. Unfortunately the app used doesn't generate the system labels, but it should give players a good idea of how everything's connected. http://hendrik0.home.xs4all.nl/pics/Dev/newmap.png

That's a bit counter productive. Instead of doing this and that then telling the community to deal with it, the devteam should propose ideas, see how the community responds, then go from there. That way we don't get a 15-system house that nobody plays in every single update.

Asking people what they thought of new features was not one of Igiss' policies. Knowing what's coming should be viewed as an improvement from the community's perspective.
Apparently there'll be a few changes. Here's what I've seen so far:
- New Omicron system connecting Zeta and Delta
- Corsair Omicrons have changed
- JH from Lambda to Sigma-17
- Luneburg connecting Braunschweig (Not Sigma-13)
- System between Alaska and Zeta (Ellesmere?)
- Minnesota connecting Bering
- Quebec connecting Alaska?
- Duesseldorf connecting Hamburg (Not Hudson)
- RHA/BHG Guard system gone (or Saar)?
- O15 not connecting O41 anymore
- New Omega system connecting O55, O11, O5, O7, O3
- O50 connecting Poole and Cayman
- Leeds JG to NL gone
- Dundee connecting Faroe (or Lewis?) and Newcastle
- Oita connecting Alaska? (Illinois gone?)
- Cassini moved (connecting Colorado and Alberta?)
- Rishiri or Nagano gone?
- Two more systems between T23 and OA (maybe O81?)
- Gallia connecting Kusari (at Hokkaido?)
- Whole Gallia rebalanced
- I count 149 Systems (Two Nomad systems not counting.)
That's all I can see on a first view. Can be wrong though.

Whether or not it was one of Igiss' policies should not matter. Just because somebody on the dev team implemented something does not mean that the entire community has to suddenly view it as something good. Being on the dev team does not suddenly make somebody's ideas better than everyone else's.

I also see jumpgate connection between Orkney and T23,
as well as New London-Newcastle one,
3rd jumpgate connection between Cambridge and a system I can't recognize,
it also looks like Dundee has gained another connection (Gaian guard system?),
one more system connected to Dublin?

True. But by the time things make it from proposal to implementation everyone's already forgotten that things were decided on. And then folk want to change it again. And again. And in the end nothing ever gets released. That's why things that HAVE been implemented aready are no longer subject to change for 4.87 - if we did that the mod would never end up being released. There is a limit to how much we can "run by" the community for the same reason. To keep things moving decisions have to be made, and followed.
Gallia -WAS- asked for in I believe 4.83. It was rather poorly implemented, but it WAS requested. By the time it was fully designed, opinions had changed, but the decision had been made by then.
Balance is Blodo/Mjolnir's perogative and I generally do not intrude on it (unless my own work is stalled by inaction on their end).
At above:
That's not Quebec connecting to Alaska, that's Virginia which had to be moved.
BHG guard system moved to the Omicrons where Core -should- be.
O15 gone completely, redeployed as O9 - between O11 and O5.
Oita is moved near New Tokyo, where Hiroshima used to be. Hiroshima is moved up and now connects to NT and Tohoku.
Rishiri and Nagano moved to the other side of Chugoku to form the path to Gallia. Rishiri's nebula is host to the Gallic jumpgate into Lyonnais.
O81 goes between OAlpha and T37. Fixes trade route shortcuts over the Omicrons, and fixes Alpha being too accessible for lawlfuls.
Gallia was completely reorganised.
The gate from Cambridge is to Poole, which is no longer a guard system. Poole also connects to Dublin by hole, adding another way for Sairs to sneak in.
There are 153 systems in the mod.

- New Omicron system connecting Zeta and Delta
This is the new BHG Core system, which covers this:
- RHA/BHG Guard system gone (or Saar)?
- Luneburg connecting Braunschweig (Not Sigma-13)
Bremen actually, Bundschuh can join the 'cooled down' war away from Bering/Hudson/Texas/Hamburg a bit easier I guess is the intention.
- O15 not connecting O41 anymore
O-15 is gone, that'll be:
- New Omega system connecting O55, O11, O5, O7, O3
- Two more systems between T23 and OA (maybe O81?)
O-81, yes.
- Gallia connecting Kusari (at Hokkaido?)
Rishiri
There actually is quite a lot of shuffling, more than I expected. No systems have been added, just a couple have been changed drastically (and renamed).
